is there a way to open .mdl files? (Read 125 times)

I wanted to know if there was a way to open and make changes to the original model.mdl files. (I wanted to open a model back into either Gmax or 3D studio to take off some fuel tanks.

As far as I know you can only make changes to the textures and panels....is this a case where you must get the original designer to send you the file or make the changes for you?

Yes - only with the source file can you make the changes.

Ask nicely - sometimes the original builder will either make a "special" (especially if it's just deleting external tanks, or something simple like that)... or even share the source file.
