I assume you're looking for something on the Wright Brothers. Try this for a start. http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&q=kitty+hawk+wright+brothers

I would think that reading every one of the links I gave you would be quite enough to go on with. I've been interested in aviation history for over 50 years. I still learn something new every day & read everything I can lay my hands on. I'm sure there's plenty of stuff there that I don't know about. Roll Eyes

I suppose you're referring to Clement Ader? There are many other contenders. Look up Richard Pearse of New Zealand or John Stringfellow of Atterfield (near Sheffield) in good ol' Blighty. Then there was that chap Rifleman mentioned. I don't remember his name offhand. I won;t bore you with any more. Wink

Despite all the arguments the Wright Brothers got the credit as their flight was documented & within the agreed rules. I'll go along with that. Well done Orville & Wilbur. Wink

Well, if I were sure that I wouldn't get in trouble for saying so, I could tell you that I've been there and I actually have a vial full of sand that was removed from the very hill that they launched from...of course the hill has moved quite a distance from where it was in 1903.  Of course, I don't want to get in trouble so I can't say anything about a vial of sand, or if it even exists.

I can however say that I've got some great pics of the monument on the hill, so if those would help you any, I"d be more than happy to scan em and send em your way.

Lemme know.

Great edit, Bob.&&&&&&Google it. &&&&www.google.com
