Those are indeed Paul Rebuffat's superb Spitfires. What a shame his site has gone, he made the best FS Spitfires EVER.
That P-40 I'm sure is on of Krzysztof Malinowski's.

Paul's Spits are posted at Sim-Outhouse. The file descriptions don't say which are Gmax or his earlier FSDS1 models. I checked out the Mk IXc in FS2004. As I suspected it's fine. All I did was to realias Sound.cfg. You could easily download Mike Hambly's Merlin sounds for it. The DVC gauges work perfectly & are also clickable. This makes me wonder if whoever uploaded them for FS2004 did so with his permission. Roll Eyes

...

PS. I'm sure you're correct about the P-40.

Hi Hagar,
This is Eric. I started this post and I am enjoying the aircraft that I downloaded from Avsim, however, I still can't get those gauges to work in the VC. I am just wondering if you could elaborate on how you did that (image above) or where exactly you downloaded that package and is that image taken in COF.

Thanks
Eric

Hi Eric. Here's the link to all Paul Rebuffat's original CFS2 Spitfires. http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?loc=downloads&page=downloadsbak&FileUpload...
Not all are Gmax & therefore some will not be FS2004-compatible. It doesn't tell you which are which. If you download the Mk IXc  (any of the spit9_xxxx.zip) it includes the missing gauges. That should fix it.

Thank you very much Hagar. I will give that a try today. Hopefully, I can get those gauges working because I love flying from the VC and I have been using these planes alot.

Eric. They should work fine. The P-40 in your shot is posted here. http://www.simviation.com/cfs2aircraft46.htm
All CFS2 aircraft created with FSDS2 or Gmax should be compatible with FS2004. All you need to do is re-alias the Panel or Sound CFGs & add entries to Aircraft.cfg. This makes me wonder if whoever "modified" & uploaded these aircraft for FS2004 has the designer's permission to do so. Roll Eyes

With regard to what you just said about permission. I'm not sure? But I can tell you one thing. The Spitfire packages and the Curtiss that I downloaded from Avsim actually came with the 2d panel from the Roger Dial 'Reno Racers' package. That probably helps explain the problem with the qauges.

Separately, the original Spits that at the start of this thread actually came from here and came with the proper panel. However, I still had no qauges in the VC.

Curious?

Having the wrong 2D panel would certainly explain the missing DVC gauges, even if they're included in the download. These are defined in the original Panel.cfg. I haven't tried any of these "FS2004" versions as the CFS2 originals work perfectly.

Without trying them myself I can't explain problems with the files you downloaded from SimV. If they're posted in the FS2004 sections they're most likely "converted" by the same person who did the others. I'm still a tad doubtful that they're genuine. Why would anyone with any common sense at all upload them with the wrong panels in the first place?
