Shiny(?) Swissair DC10 (Read 843 times)

I think I was right about that shine. Here's the same old bird at home at Kloten Rwy 16 after a bit of a repaint

...

Gear up and right turn (for who knows where?)

...

Now this is typically Swissair

...

The shine looking good in the sunshine

...

Bye bye

...

Just a quick paint job. Managed to retain most of the tailfin detail. The red was a bit orangey to start with but because of the added shine, had to deepen it anyway.

What do you think?

Nice work Roger!
I must have over 2 dozen liveries of the FFX DC-10's. They are absolutely a great aircraft to fly. High detail and very frame rate friendly. They are one of my favorites,......

Thanks

Transformation only took just over an hour.

No, doesn't come with a VC but it's got other features that I haven't found yet (like opening internal galley doors??? - hey, I must be the only person in the World who doesn't know how to get back into a Meljet!)

Quoting from the Readme..

Features include what has become the standard in GMAX ™ design for FS, dynamic shine, internal wing views, 3D fans modeled on all 3 engines, fully animated flight control surfaces, opening passenger doors, opening galley service doors, opening cargo access doors, animated landing light assemblies, animated flight crew, and visible interior components textured.

For panel, I still use a 'classic' FS98 panel by the maestro Eric Ernst that I converted for FS2002 with the usual pop-up GPS, stack etc. I've not looked lately but I've never come across anything better yet.

Looks like all you DC10 fans have been keeping a bit quiet!

No need to be embarrassed - it's OK to like heavies!

IMHO that's what FS is REALLY all about. Leave all the pansy little singles to the girlies. This is flying for REAL men Wink

Rollerball, is your panel available anywhere? and is it fs9 compatable?. Great shots btw.

And another question, Does anyone like the L-1011? I found one at swire mariners that flys great. The textures are a little weak, but with an Earl Shibes  repaint, who knows. Its the Evergreen  for 2k2 but it works in fs9

slim, the original panel by Eric Ernst is an fs98 model, file name is d10epn12.zip

if you get hold of that, let me know and I'll post the panel.cfg file here on the forum (like I did for flyeorange with the L-1011 panel on the FS2002 forum - take a look) as my mods use standard gauges only

but btw you must have the A2 autopilot in your ...fs2002\GAUGES folder - check that out as well. you prob will have if you've downloaded many panels
