is there any gamepacks that u need to install with fs9 like u did with fs2002? i have registered gmax and am ready to go but surely there must be a gamepack for it?

Not yet. I assume this will be part of the promised SDKs which AFAIK have yet to be released. If you still have FS2002 Pro you can use the included Gamepack. It's theoretically possible to use the Makemdl.exe included in the FS2002 MakeMdl SDK but this might be a tad tricky. You would need to export the project as a DirectX file in X format first.

While there are (convoluted) ways to export a gmax file and theoretically get it into makemdl, I think it's more trouble than it's worth.

I have not yet been able to export a textured object from gmax into flightsim other than through the established FS2002 Pro gamepack (not to stay it can't be done, just that *I* haven't been able to do it, and we all know my gWax abilities are less than stellar...)

Felix is far too modest. If he can't do it without the Gamepack I doubt many people can. I've tried it with simple objects without success but I never liked Gmax anyway. Although it's possible in theory (as I previously mentioned) I've never seen anyone back it up with proof. Roll Eyes
