When the Intel Pentiun V comes out, the Athlon 64 should drop in price. It's hard to say when to buy becuase the high tech world is constantly changing.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. Wink&&The Rig: &&AMD Athlon XP2000+ Palomino, ECS K7S5A 3.1, 1GB PC2700 DDR, Geforce FX5200 128mb, SB Live Platinum, 16xDVD, 16x10x40x CDRW, 40/60gb 7200rpm HDD, 325w Power, Windows XP Home SP1, Directx 9.0c with 66.81 Beta gfx drivers

Jester, if you live in a major electronics retail area and do not want to wait until next year for upgrades, then I suggest buying your computer/parts the day after thanksgiving.  You will not find lower prices on the high performance stuff any other time of the year.  Get the morning paper's ads before the stores open, plan which stores you intend to visit, show up before the doors open and get ready to battle those who will kick and elbow there way to the limited supply of sale items.

If  you want a computer that isn't going to be out dated for 3-4 years, get a "super computer"  -They are roughly $14, 000, and they feture 8.3GHz 64 bit prosecessors, 2 gig of ram, 240 GB hard drive, ATI 9800 256 MB graphics card, 2.8 FSB, Etc etc

I am somwhere I don't know where I am!!!&&

Oh sure, $14,000, you can just find that amount of money just laying around anywhere!   Grin
     Where'd you see that?
And why after thanksgiving?
