Problem: differential braking in VC mode. (Read 195 times)

Hi all
Downloaded the fabulous Fouga Magister recently. Found out it has no steerable nosewheel so you'll have to turn using differential braking.
Now here's the problem: the right brake won't work in virtual cockpit mode. All the other view modes are fine. Not a problem if there's plenty room to do a left circle but this is slightly problematic on a take-off roll  Grin.
Found out more (add-on) aircraft suffer this problem. Anybody know a cure?

Thanks
AJ

AJ. The Fouga is too big a download on my 56k connection so I checked this out on several other types. No problems here. I can't think why changing views would affect the key commands. ???

You could always cheat by tweaking Aircraft.cfg to make the nosewheel steerable.

Hagar thanks for even considering downloading it to investigate the problem!!! You're a top man.(thumbs up)

I can't think of a reason why changing views would make a difference either, but apparently it does. That's why I turned to you smart people.... Smiley

Anyway. Could you give me some directions on what value / lines to change in the aircraft.cfg to make the nosewheel steerable? I don't use FSedit as you may know.

If you ever get the chance to obtain the Fouga grab it. It is very nicely made and the sounds are great. I can hardly believe it's freeware actually. I'll post some screenshots soon. Even though you can't hear it then.

Thanks for the help
AJ

Hi AJ. I've heard good things about that Fouga. I found an updated Aircraft.cfg for it. You can tweak this in Notepad. Here's the appropriate entry for the steering angle. (marked in red). I've changed it from 0 to 45 degrees. You might need to experiment.
