LOL, I bet any 747 would make a very effective hairdryer, all be it an expensive one... Grin

Which was a ripoff of the Boeing Startocruiser Super Guppy that Airbus used for a while ..  I guess Airbus was embarassed to use an "old" Boeing to make their planes.

BTW - I think one of the first examples of a bloated/beluga transport would have to be the Vickers Vimy "Ambulance" of the early post-WW1 period.

In the same way that Boeing would be embarrassed to use the existing Airbus design. Very few things are original these days. Just imagine the time, effort & vast expenditure that could be saved if everyone pooled their resources & talent instead of "stealing" each other's ideas. Of course, this is unlikely all the time competition is involved.

The Beluga seems to manage well enough on those 2 hairdriers. From what I can make out they're variations on the same engine. Roll Eyes
