This is more an advertisement for the FX package I will be putting together for Kirk Olsen's fantastic F-16 Viper.

Using some of my FX files I have had from FS2k2 and other acft., I figured how to apply them to this great acft. The engine exhaust trail is much longer than others you can get but pretty frame rate friendly. The contrails are very thin and don't hit you much, if at all in frame rates. Be looking for the package in a few days. Got to remember how to put one together for upload here. Don't want Pete to spit it back out to me with a nasty gram.   Wink   Anyone find a good email to Kirk or can get ahold of him, let him know. Even though he allows modifications with proper credit given, which I always do, he might want to know how his plane is progressing.

Thanks Kirk.

Looks good.
However, I must question the realism of such exhaust smoke on a modern jet engine which run relatively clean.

It would look much better/real on something like a  `50s era F-86 IMO.

Thanks pilots. And you are right Joe, the F-16 really doesn't smoke. But it is fun looking at it in this flight sim. It is also easily turned off by putting a couple of slash marks in front of the engine exhaust fx entry in the acft.cfg file. Like this:

In the Viper's Aircraft.cfg file under [SmokeSystem], you just put a couple slashes in front of the FOUR engine exhaust fx entries. Like this: //   This tells the comp. NOT to read them. See, easily turned off if you don't like it or just want the contrails.

Uploading the package today. When Simviation gets it up is a guess. Probably be in the FS2004 Misc. section.
