If you have all the parts you can get it all together and installing the O/S in a couple of hours if you can follow directions given in the M/B manual,... if its a paper one, that is....
Stormy and I put ours together in one evening and got the O/S in so we were both up and running before we went to bed.....we started after dinner.

On board sound ?...if not, add the sound card to your list.....
On board LAN card ?.....gotta connect to the net somehow?.......
.......make sure you get twin connectors on your cables for the IDE devices and if you are running SCSI instead, get a card for that too.......you may need a floppy drive, but with a bootable XP O/S CD you might get away without it....

if ur going AMD i wouldnt recommend going higher than PC3200, anything above that doesnt get used unless ur overclocking...

btw, the new AMD 64s are out, its only 700 dollars for one..... u should get one o them :-P

You better add a floppy, and/or zip drive to the list just in case you ever need them...

I have a zip250 which I just carry the disk back and forth between school where I get good downloads, sicne they don't have CD-RW drives at school this is a good compromise.  And of course I back them all up on CD when I get home...
