Ok well first of all, I have an AGP ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB video card with the Omega drivers installed (based on the Catalyst 3.6 drivers).  I have a P4 2.4 Ghz processor on an Intel D865PERL Motherboard that supports AGP 8X.  I have DirectX 9.0b installed and when I open dxdiag, and I look at the display tab and for the AGP texture acceleration option, it says not available with the Disable button greyed out.  I have heard of this problem before, and heard without AGP texture acceleration, video performance can be 10-20% lower than with it enabled.  Anyone know of this problem, and what I should do?  Is it possible its because of the Omega drivers?  I would revert back to Catalyst drivers but changing drivers has become a nightmare for me lately...I dont want to change them unless that IS my problem.

NEVERMIND!!  LOL it was actually the Omega drivers that helped me.  In the advanced SMARTGART options I had it set for PCI write and read with AGP write and read set to off.  I simply reversed it and BINGO problem solved!

AND HOLY CRAP!!!  My Frame Rates have doubled since I fixed this problem!  Went from 15 FPS on the ground at KSJC (my test site) to 28-30 FPS!!!  I knew something was wrong, as I expected a little better performance than I was getting with my system!  Turns out my computer was reading my card as PCI and not AGP even though I had it in the AGP slot.

uhhh, I think I am stuck in the same scenario Cry  It turns out that I can shut off the PCI read and wright, and I can turn on the AGP read, but not the AGP Wright!!! What the hell?  Any suggestions, I am using the catelist 3.8 drivers since I have heard some bad stuff with lowering of frame rates on the 3.9

Hope somone can help

Is your Card in PCI mode? You can check this on the active Desktop/Customize my desktop/settings/advanced.
If your settings say "Bus:     PCI mode" then you need to install your motherboard AGP drivers.
This is what mine said and this was installed by 'proffesionals' at a computer shop. I wonder what they thought the point of an Fx 5600 if its not running AGP mode!
Heres how it should look (depending on what speed bus you have)
