My guess is that you'll find that everyone uses the same pattern I do to determine this.

We find out our local airport in real life, then type that answer here.

LOL

In my case, that would be the Albany Intergalactic Spaceport..Albany International Airport (KALB)...International because of one b1900 to Toronto every day around 4pm.

I also enjoy JFK, EWR, and LAX, but as you can tell, I'm an east coast kinda guy.

the worst Airport is Paris Charles D gaul ( soz bout spelling ) my FAV Airline used to have a connection there but the taxiways were longer than the flight , it takes ages to get to a terminal , i used to stop and have a picnic and let the passengers out to stretch there legs for a while ( snigger )

Fav Port , well i aint got one theres soo many , i havent even scratched the top yet

My fav flight is a short one in a BAE146 from Southampton to jersey

Good questions.

I loke the bigger airports of course, and I sim mostly in europe.

Here's my airport list
1. Frankfurt/Main (EDDF)
2. Paris Charles de Gaule (LFPG)
3. London Heatrow (EGLL)

Favourite flight is the short EKCH-ESGG hop between Copenhagen and Gothenburgh with the RISMA1F star off course...like I wrote in another thread, that arrival route is just some thousands of feet above my house Smiley

Addy: I forgot...had a complete brain-dead moment.

The best airport to land on is of course Funchal RW23, at Madeira (LPMA). The weather can be a B*tch, and the airport has no ILS. Straight approaches are forbidden, so after passing the FUN VOR you have to make a steep right turn and then go hard left to align yourself with the runway (which is located on a  190 feet high platform above the sea.) Crosswinds below 10kts are rare.  8)

Since we're mostly biased towards our closest airports, I'm going for Belfast City, EGAC. I can see the aircraft climb up from behind a hill, turn left, and head towards the IOM VOR on their way to England!

The RINGA approach to Aldergrove, EGAA, also passes directly over my house, so I get quite a few 737s and such passing over that way!

I like landing at Manchester, EGCC. I've been to this airport a few times, and it's a lovely big airport (especially with the SimFlyers stuff). I tend to prefer flying in Europe on VATSIM, but since I do a lot of my flying late at night, I do fly around the states a lot - mostly just around the East Coast. Scott, I passed over your local airport on a flight to O'Hare on VATSIM a few weeks ago! One of my favourite routes is just from KATL down to KMIA - there's usually a lot of other traffic and good ATC around there, and KATL is always well-staffed at night.

I'm sort of casually doing a lot of VFR flying lately, and I decided to go west, with an intention of flying to the States and Canada, but offline. The ATC sounds more realistic in North America! Wink

I have posted a question but didn't answer. So,

my favorite airports are:
LFRS (NANTES/Atlantique - a small & nice airport in France, but fun!)
EGLL (Heathrow)
EGPK (Prestwick airport).

I don't like JFK and Brest (Brittany)

My favorite flight is EGLL-EGPK-EGAC.
The UK airports are fun to land on..But haven't landed in Germany or Spain yet...I have no favorite airport so far.
I usually fly w/ the Ryanair B737-200 and, some time to time... E3TF (AWACS).

Eventually, I really like flying by night or...with cloudy & rainy conditions...especially when you don't have much petrol left (Am crazy, I know..but I'm French, that's may be why!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin)... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Well, living in the Denver, USA area, I like to fly commercial jets out of Denver International.  I also LOVE Honolulu, hawaii, and Lihue (on one of the islands), Hawaii.

I fly military jets at Buckley AFB (around denver) and LOTS at poor old meigs.

I mainly fly in the US, but I like Sydney, Kansai, HEathrow, and CDG in PAris.

Grin Grin Grin  Just finished a trip around my home province (Newfoundland and Labrador) in a B1900D (Lovely Plane) 33 airports and airstrips, some in the middle of nowhere, and 2,207.1 miles later, I made it back home.  A little airstrip about 10 minutes from my home, although I base out of Gander about an hour from here for most of my flights (All Sim, mind you)

My favourite tho' is float planes anywhere in Alaska

Civil would be Montreal to Toronto Pearson's in an Air Canada 737-200, but I rarely fly comercial.
Military depends on what I'm flying and which AirForce/Navy, though I guess I usually hang around RAF Leuchars, RAF Lossiemouth, CFB Cold Lake and Edwards AFB.
My local airport is Prestwick or Glasgow (I'm right between them by about 15-20 miles) and I sometimes fly stunt planes and jet warbirds out of Prestwick.

Fav. Aircraft:
Military: DSB Tornados GR.4 and F.3
Comercial: 737-200 by ????
GA: PSS Bulldog
Sport: Pitts Specials by ????
Warbird:  Vampire F.mk.3 by ????

Right about local preferences. I fly from Gatwick a lot, as it's the closest big airport, and am currently doing an alphabetical round-the-EU flight in Airbuses before the EU enlargement in 2004.

Fave plane is the Airbus A319 (from FFG) although I have a sneaking admiration for the noisy, smelly old VC-10!

Also fly a lot on the US west coast, based at McCarran in Las Vegas. No UFOs from Area 51 yet though!

HI all,
My favorite quick hop is Bristol to Jersey and back. East Midlands to Aberdeen is a bit longer but I usually get Atc  control, (I fly IVAO). Longer job, also usually with atc most of the way is Geneva or Berne to East Midlands.
Regards,
Tony, (Bucks UK)
