I am working on developing some stuff in the effects files. I am interested in doing some things other than what I have found info on. I can't find the info I want in the M$ FX SDK that explains this stuff.
I have seen in some FX files commands listed occasionally that are like Sound=1. Is it possible to play a sound file out of a general FX file? How do I do this? Where do I have to put the actual sound file? Is it just .wav files that work?
I have seen things like the command Fire=1. What is that about? Also Light=1. What's that?
Ther are a few other commands that I have seen that are not listed in th SDK. Are tehre a bunch of "hidden" commands? And if so..... is there a list somewhere?
Now a big question that is really important to me with something I am working on right now........
Can I use the [controller.X] command in a fx_ file called from the [smoke] section of the aircraft.cfg file?
I have tried... but it doesn;t seem to work. I want to make sure that it is not something ELSE that I am doing wrong
.
Appreciate the help.
best,

Back again.......
Here are the commands/keywords in the fx_ files that I really can't find a reference to in the M$ FS2002 Effects SDK:
Damage=x
Hitpoints= x.x, y.y
Magnitude=x.x, y.y
Time=x.x, y.y
Sound=x
Sound Param=x
No Interpolate=x
Fire=x
Fire Delay=x
LOD=x
I am currently wondering if some of these are "leftovers" from Combat Flight SImulator effects files (like the "Damage" and "Hitpoints" ones.... and do nothing in FS2002 or FS2004.
I REALLY wqant to know about the "sound" and "fire" functions.
And "LOD" obviously means "Level Of Detail". But what are the vlaid values and what do those values DO?
