Hi there. To enhance my sightseeing, I would like to download a military or civilian jet that can provide me the fastest trip between two airports. I currently use the stock Lear 45 that comes with FS2002.
Can anyone advise me which jet is the fastest one out there (which can still be flown at lower speeds so I can do turns around a point when an area interests me)?
Thank you very much.

He's possibly speaking of the M400 Skycar found here:
http://www.simviation.com/fs2002misc10.htm
A very good concept, and it does have the ability to fly at relatively good speeds. I would also suggest the Millenium Falcon, which incorporates a wonderful VC and great autopilot control, and is found here:

I think that Oso may have been referring to the Gerry Anderson Supercar, from the UK early 60s TV series, rather than the Moller Skycar. Rumour has it that it can perform close to the FS2002 maximum speed of Mach 3.
Don't forget Concorde, of course! That does Mach 2, but is not all that manoeuvrable around landmarks!
To increase speed further, don't forget that you can speed the sim up to 16 times, without losing the autopilot control.

You can find a file on the SurClaro site named typhored.zip, that is an BAE Aerobic Plane that is about as fast as you can get. It flies good and handles good and lands good. It is capable of Mach 2 speeds.

Yes I was talking about the puppet show car - and yes, the turbo version is that fast and faster.
I have a couple that I use for the same thing that are quit nice. One is the Voodoo - it will do about 900 or 1000 knots if pressed.
The other is the FW Ta283 - it is a very nice handler - looks good and will cruise about 875 knots or so without too much trouble.
Have had them both up to about 1300 knots after a 30,000 foot full power dive. At that speed you are gone before you can see the bridge passing overhead!
I dl'd them from either here or the Outhouse.

Phew - that turbo Supercar takes off like a rocket! I haven't managed to get it very far without it getting overstressed anyway.

Back in the days of 98, I had a mean Space Shuttle Orbiter. I used to race it. For some reason, I always won.

You can always hunt down the SR-71, I think you can get it here.
When I'm in a hurry to get somewhere, the SR-71 never lets me down!
There is also the Concorde, I've used it a few times also.
And for the ultimate in high speed travel: the X-15!
&&Still no linked images allowed around here Paz! Naughty...&&

You want fast....get in a Tiger Moth, after a dozen pickled eggs and half a dozen beer........sit up front with a small camp stove alight in the back seat and hang on when the fumes from the chemically altered eggs are expelled ............you may just go supersonic faster than Yeager !

I USE A CHALLENGER 604.ITS PRETTY FAST, BUT AFTER GOING INTO AIRCRAFT EDITOR & BOOSTING THRUST TO 30.000 LBS, IT'LL SCOOT PRETTY GOOD NOW,(750 KNTS) AND FLIGHT DYNAMICS DONT SEEM TO HAVE SUFFERED. HIT THE SPOILERS AND BACK OFF THE THROTTLE, AND YOU'LL SLOW DOWN QUICK ENOUGH TO TAKE IN THE SIGHTS. YOU CAN TWEAK AIRCRAFT TO GO MUCH FASTER, BUT IF YOUR INTO HYPERSPEED FLYING YOU MIGHT AS WELL FLY AROUND IN SLEW MODE. AND YOU DONT NEED A PLANE ANYWAY. GOOD LUCK!

The fastest plane i have is the FS2004/2002 Goa'uld Death Glider from Stargate SG1. Speeds up to Mach 4.24. Its landing gear is a magnetic hover field. Created by William Ortis. It can be found on the FS2004 Misc pages, page 1.
It takes a bit of getting used to but once you get it down it is a blast.
Give it a try, it rocks.
