The use of the word "ignorant" in regards to my knowledge of WWII is too much for me and I can't let it go.

Hermann Goering the leader of the Luftwaffe was tied completely to the SS and Himmler.

"Following Hitler's appointment as Chancellor on 30 January 1933, Goering was made Prussian Minister of the Interior, Commander-in-Chief of the Prussian Police and Gestapo and Commissioner for Aviation. As the creator of the secret police, Goering, together with Himmler (q.v.) and Heydrich (q.v.), set up the early concentration camps for political opponents, showing formidable energy in terrorizing and crushing all resistance."

During the Nuremberg Trials it was proven that Luftwaffe Doctors requested that concentration camp inmates be used in experiments while German pilots watched and observed the effects.

Luftwaffe pilots including Galland, while in the Condor Legion, were well aware of and participated in the terror bombings and straffings in Spain including Guernica.

And in London during the fire bombings and in Russia during the wholesale slaughter of Russian civilians.

These were not the "mistakes of the past" as you so easily excuse. They were planned genocide.
