I'm a V4 man myself, nearly all my bikes have been (Yamahas and Hondas), I did have a Yamaha single trailie for a while, which was fun off road, but a nightmare on the road as the engine vibes would rattle your fillings free!
Has anyone tried any of the Triumph triples? I'd like to know what they're like, the new 955 looks delicious.
Oh and Fozzer, try bringing up the panel for the engine controls, most aircraft I've added need to go through a proper flicking the switches start-up Wink

Ozzy

Hi Ozzy... Grin...!
Some of the designers don't always include a complete set of engine controls in the Panel File.
Typical example is my latest downloaded Pitts S2 Bulldog...no Main, Battery/Generator switches... Cry...!
..so can't switch anything off to conserve Battery power while I am in the loo reading my mags... Cry...LOL...!
It's like leaving your Bike alarm switched on all night.
No-one has pinched your bike, but you cant start it next morning 'cos the battery is flat... Angry...!
BUGGAR... Roll Eyes...!

Re: Trumpets...
UN-BELIEVABLY mechanically noisy engines, sound like they are going to explode any minute...
Vey high centre of gravity..(fall over easily, generally with you on it...)... Shocked...!
...not impressed really, for Trumpet enthusiasts only.. Wink..!
Stick to Vee-Four Honda's, with a Ducati 999 perched on your mantlepiece, just to drool over... Tongue...!
...and you can use the Ducati clutch basket to drain your vegetables... Grin...!
Sorted... 8)...!
...back on subject, I love this electronic ignition, push button to start on the bikes...none of your prop-swinging, heart-attack, malarky...LOL...!
...now where is that Main/Battery Switch.... ???....?
LOL...LOL...LOL...!

Cheers all... Grin...!

Have you downloaded CFGEdit?  A great program for editing panels.  Puts all the gauges (almost Roll Eyes) on the BMP for you to look at and fiddle with.  Its how I make or modify every panel I have, usually for the reasons you said before.

Hi Ender... Grin...!
I do have CFG Edit, but being the simple chap the I am, and always wanting to annoy Hagar...
I open up the Panel .bmp file with Paint-Shop-Pro, note the co-ordinates of where I want to place my objects, pick the objects from the Gauges Folder, place them in the Panel File, and modify the Panel File to suit...
Love it... Tongue...!
...and it REALLY annoys Hagar, ...which is even better... Grin...!
...it's just a shame that the panel designers didn't do it in the first place... Roll Eyes...!
LOL...!

Cheers all... Grin...!

Hey Fozzer, go intoy your key assignments and assign something to the battery switches, that way you don't need to modify every panel Wink

I've ridden the first and second generation
triples(we're talking the reborn Triumph), and even though the early Speed Triple was a tank, it was a fun bike to ride. The new 955 is much better, in terms of weight and handling, but the engine is a hand-grenade! Our shop made a lot of money on warranty work on those things. Both are a world of difference from the old stuff. I invented new cuss words, while working on old Bonnies!  Angry   ...actually the source of a few good jokes. Why do the British drink warm beer? ???

.....so I loaded up the plane and moved to Middle-EEEE..........OIL..that is......

Hi Andrew....
...back on topic...
..this is the way I do it... Wink...!

For those who have the Pitts S2 Bulldog, (or any other plane), and would REALLY like to have the Master/Alternator/Battery switches on their panel, here is the add-on text to include in the Panel File:

gauge20=CESSNA!Master_Alt_Bat,  200,222,40,50

...this is all done by using "Fozzers" patented method* of opening up the panel bit-map in Paint Shop Pro, scrolling with the mouse over the panel, and noting the co-ordinates of my selected position to insert my new gauge.

The first number "200" is the co-ordinate from left to right, the second number "222" is the co-ordinate from top to bottom.
(Note that the co-ordinates are the top left-hand corner of the gauge).
Just do a fine re-adjustment of the numbers to position the gauge accurately. Dont forget to "Save" each time..!
The remaining two numbers, "40,50" width, height, are the standard size of the switches.
It just clears the Altimeter Setting Knob.
Now, whenever you shut-down the engine, and pop off somewhere, to do whatever, you can switch off the battery as well, to conserve power, ready for the next start-up...!
...Cool, or what...!

*Note: Hagar refers to it as "Fozzers patented long-winded method".... Cry...!
LOL...!

Cheers all... Grin...!

P.S. The only thing to watch, is that the gauge you intend to add is actually included in your Main Gauges Folder..!

Note the position of the new Main/Battery switch.
I use this amazing "Fozzer" method to insert all my "missing" gauges... 8)...!

...

...back off subject... Wink...!
OTTOL...
...so why do the British drink warm beer...?
..and did you know that the mechanical starter mechanism in the Triumph Triples is buried deep in the centre of the gear-box, and necessitates a COMPLETE engine strip to get access to it when it fails, (which it does)... Cry...!
...and don't even ask about the deafening engine noise... Roll Eyes...!
Trumpets are for Trumpeteers only...!
LOL...!

Cheers mates...!
Paul.

Now that I fly, instead of wrench for a living, the only time I get my hands dirty is when I shake hands with a mechanic. Ergo, I have managed to erase all memory details of the inner workings of the  evil Triumph motorcycle!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
How about this one: How does a mechanic say F**k You! to a Pilot? ???
