Don't worry.  I still see some aircraft created for FS2000.  And 2k4 has so many issues at the moment that many people (including myself) are sticking with 2k2.  I don't think its going to be obsolete till FS2006 has the bugs worked out.  A looooonnnggg time . . .

Pitts S2S Bulldog.  I'm not sure but I think its right here at SimV.  Great flight dynamics, and it has a full VC which makes for great aerobatic flying.

I have that also, but I thought he wanted something that was designed with aerobatics in mind.  The -75 was made by the Nazi's during the war for combat manuevers.  A revolutionary design, and VERY, VERY fun to fly.

The Pitts in on the newest page!!
It is a whore to fly, but it's real, they are very
hard to fly!!

Wrong!!

And you couldn't be more so. All aerobatic aircraft have to be aerodynamically stable in order for the pilot to do what HE wants with them and not the other way round. The Pitts is DEFINITELY no exception. I've flown one - only once - but after a few demos by the owner who was very experienced at aerobatics I rolled even with hesitation after a few goes, flew inverted and looped the little bu**er even though I'd never done any aeros before. Then I landed it.

One of the most memorable experiences of my life I have to admit.

WHA????
has anyone here used the aeroworks concept V? it has a sweet effect to it (pyro display) but the dynamics are so messed up

Uuuuuhhhhh..........WRONG! I have also flown the Pitts and Aerobatic aircraft are inherently UNSTABLE. That is: they posess negative static stability . This is what allows the aircraft to be so nimble. The tradeoff is a roll rate like an F16. Look at the extreme dihedral on a Piper Cherokee. I used to take students(in the Cherokee)  that were overcontrolling on landing, line them up on a two-mile final at 1000' feet AGL reduce power for the descent, and make them WATCH the airplane with the hands off of the Yoke! That's how stable the airplane is, the tradeoff is a roll rate like a B17!  Lips Sealed
The Aeroworks is the best airplane I have found, because the excess power makes it easy to get out of trouble. You can hover in this airplane with about 50% power, although, I have only been able to do this from external view. You get used to the aircraft Brad, it's just a matter of practice. Everything is relative! I went straight from instructing in Cherokees, to the right seat of a Learjet. I remember one late night in Cherokee when I asked ATC for a groundspeed readout:"72knots(chuckle included)" was the pitiful answer! Several years later while flying as a Captain on a Lear35 coming back from Bermuda, we were getting "pulverized" by a headwind, I had to laugh at myself. I looked down at the GPS "Only 385knots, man this is rediculous!" Then I thought back to that night in the Cherokee. Keep praticing in that Pitts! 8) Quote:
The negatively stable or fully unstable aircraft may be statically unstable and never attempt to return towards the trimmed state. Or it can be statically stable but dynamically unstable, where it will continue oscillating after disturbance with the magnitude of those oscillations getting larger and larger. Significant instability is an undesirable characteristic, except where an extremely manoeuvrable aircraft is needed and the instability can be continually corrected by on-board 'fly-by-wire' computers rather than the pilot – for example, a supersonic air superiority fighter. The best piston-engined WW2 day fighters were generally designed to be just stable longitudinally, neutrally stable laterally and positively stable directionally

Off topic? I seem to remember a post about populating airfields with static aircraft turning into a discussion about skydiving. Grin
