1 knot = 1.1507794 mile/hour (mph)
so basically round it down to 1 knot= 1.15 miles an hour and you should have no problems

1 Knot is 1Nm/hour
1Nm is 1,852 metres
60Nm is 111Km is the length of 1 degree on the equator
360 times 111Km, is the circumference of the earth

got it?
