Wanna swap your Skyhawk for this... (Read 422 times)

Was over at the Kai Tak Aviation Club the other day for a quick trip in the Bell when I spotted this little beauty parked up over in the corner.

...

Good grief, one of the members has got hold of a P51D Mustang. While we watched from the Bell she started up and called for taxi to rwy 13.

...

We quickly flipped over the fence and parked to watch her taxi out. What a sight!

...

After she'd queued to allow an Air China 777 take off followed by a China Southern Dash 8 we had been able to move next to the runway to see her soar up and away against the Hong Kong skyline.

...

We found out in the bar later on that the owner takes regular trips to Fuzhou (every 8 hours actually!!) and later while there ourselves we were able to see from the Bell's cockpit, the beautiful old tail-dragger come into land (a bit bouncy) and taxi across to the terminal.

...

It cant be the CFS3 default. It's impossible to convert CFS3 aircraft to Flight Simulator. If somebody's found a way, I'd love some new warbirds for my FS2004 hanger.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. That's Andrew Wai's P-51D for CFS2.
It's one heck of a ride, but I'd sure like to know how you got it to land RollerBall. I can't get my AI Mustang to land, it keeps on going around.

Yeah, saw Steve's post in the TTools forum where he said he couldn't get Andrew Wai's P-51D to work as AI.

So I tweaked the fde and Bob's your Uncle (as we say in England).

I'll put the AI fde files onto my website for download in the new future. It's great watching the old bird come in with full flap and dump down like she's on a carrier! That's what I meant by the landing being a bit bouncy.

Thanks Mark

I keep getting really tempted to release a work in progress version but then I decide not to. Some parts like the Aviation Club are really detailed and pretty recognisable I think but others I've still got loads to do on. I haven't yet done the new terminals or some other on-airport buildings let alone some of the important ones in the local surroundings.

I did a 'dummy zip' the other day and it's getting pretty big but that's hardly surprising given the level of detail. Too big to email (we won't have Broadband until the Autumn) I'm afraid.

But although it obviously has a frame rate hit, it doesn't seem at present any worse than the default airport 'majors' and it's got a few dynamics in it as well.

Sorry I still can't be more specific, but work doesn't stop and it is slowly progressing.
