Lurch,

Yes this kind of situation is well know, certain VAF's (VUSN, VCAF, Dutch Mil Flkying Group etc) are very lucky in so much that they have special relationships with their VATSIM Area's whereby they are afforded the priviledges of being able to conduct Peacetime Military Ops almost unrestricted and with out Civilian impeachment.  The VUSN operates mostly on their own Private Servers if I am not much mistaken.  It is certain that the VUSN are hardly ever seen on the VATSIM servers via Servinfo, trust me we have been looking at the VATSIM Servers the last two years to see exactly what Mil Orgs are operating and where...
The Virtual Red Deer Airshow exposed the VUSN's Private Server and very stable it is too.   Well done on that one Gents.
Some of these Orgs such as the VCAF have Rostered members holding senior VAT positions within their areas that allow discussion and negotion for the allowance of accurate Military Air Law and Military Air Traffic Procedures.

Such Organisations are very lucky.  Very lucky indeed.

Neeko,

We actually aren't on the private server too much, but, then again a lot of our ops are over water so we don't really get in the way.If we fly strike missions then we will use the private server. We have our Vice Chief of Personnel to thank for our server (and yes I agree,it is very stable).Hardly ever seen on VATSIM?We,especially AIRPAC,are on VATSIM most days-and the numbers are fairly high at the moment with Tandem Thrust coming up soon.

Well Sorry mate, we aint seen ya's LOL!  Must be the nights your not operating... I am in the western timezones so its not a case of your operating when I sleeping etc... But there we are...  We must be plain missing you...  Thats a good point that your over water, I really hadnt thought of that, probably helps you VATSIM wise.  Good luck with Tandem Thrust, its a crying shame we couldnt make it...  From the support we are recieving from the IAMPSO JCS its quite heartening to know that we do have some sympathy.

Good Luck Lurch with the TT Exercise... Go Navy!  Grin

Who are you with that you couldn't make it to TT? (if you're looking for IAMPSO affiliation then keep at it,the vUSMC took months to get accredited Wink)

Go Navy!

Lurch,

We had IAMPSO affiliation before the vUSMC mate LOL!

We are the RAFv.  Unfortunately VATUK decided to make us homeless in all their wisdom. Alas, they seem to think that even tho we are IAMPSO affiliated and despite the fact that 95% of our membership have been flying with VATSIM for at least 3 years we would still pose a threat to their members... :S   Go figure... Undecided
IAMPSO was not able to broker an agreement on our behalf, although they worked very hard to do so.  The RAFv owes a debt of grattitude to the IAMPSO Chief for stepping in our behalf, alas to no avail.
I guess we are still suffering from the wave of VATSIM Political arguments that befell the original RAFv two years ago... But there we are.  Water under the bridge as it were.
All is not lost, the RAFv has their own server which we have been operating with since May, we have been organising our own MATO section including Fighter Controlling via AWACS and GCI Stations.  Works very well.  But we are loosing out on being able to partake in exercises etc with the other VATSIM orgs.  We have enjoyed terrific support from IAMPSO since VATUK's decision and hopefully an alternative solution may shortly be found.
The vUSMC are not that active yet, but hopefully they will grow with the right kind of member. They certainly have a popular idea with plenty of subject matter, VAF wise...
Wish those guys all the luck in the world.

Good luck to all with TT or Op Crocodile 2003 as it is now called...
