Just to ask, I have just this second finished downloading 38 or so MB of Sky World Se 2.4, and want to know if it was a worthwhile download?

I ask this as I downloaded some better Storm Sound Effects, better crackling of Thunder etc.........and louder too, and wanted some great looking storm clouds to match, I hope I've done right here!  ??? Smiley

Watch out for ol' Felix/FFDS, Eyelevel!  Don't let him catch you on FSPIRATE.  I've already been scolded once for this indiscretion . . . Wink

Not sure I follow you, but I did'nt go anywhere dodgy, just places like Avsim etc......but anyhow I can't find those files now, sorry people, I know I got them possibly from Avsim.

Should this thread be deleted then? I don't want arguments with anyone, can't take that kind of thing........not good for the system!  Sad

God, I hope it's not that much of an issue.  I always check SimV first, but sometimes the file I'm looking for just isn't here.  That's just about the only time I go somewhere else.

I can't see it being that serious of an issue though.

What I meant was FSPlanet (sorry, Felix).  He's dubbed them FSPirate because they are stealing and generally doing illegal things.  Ask him about it, he'll tell you.

No one is going to get mad about going to other sites, and in fact I can recomend a few, such as flightsim.com and SurClaro.com.  They are both excellent sites with many files that for some reason no one has bothered to upload to this wonderful site.

I didn't THINK so, but sometimes those are the surprises that just sneak up on ya.  lol

I never go to FSPlanet, personally.  I used to go to SurClaro a lot, but I got tired of not being able to get in.  lol  (Ironically, that's when I discovered SimV!)

Once in a blue moon though, I'd say maybe 5% of the time, I end up at AVSIM.

I just don't like the layouts of the other sites as much as I do here...and the people here are a thousand times more friendly and helpful...especially to newbies.  I've learned TONS just in the short time I've been here.

No no its my fault for mis-understanding chaps! I do this frequently, sorry! and for the record I have'nt been to that site you mention Ender_Baron  Wink so no worries, I don't do illegal, ever!

No infact I've been to those two other sites you mentioned and they are good , but this one I prefer because everything is so clear and organised very well, (not sucking here, honest! lol)  Grin

Those files I came accross probably on one of those sites, just can't remember right now, if I do I'll let you know Hyperion  Grin

I forget what the owner of SurClaro.com's name is. But, I've swapped e-mails and shared some ideas with him, in the past. Seems like a nice dude.

It is too bad the site is hard to get into. But, he's on a budget, I would suppose, and since Bandwidth cost money, that's what happens.

But, I'll always give him a "Thumbs-up" for his site. He has tons of addons, (not as many as SimV, however,  Wink), but it's a really nice site. Pretty much, what you find here, you'll find there. But, there are some files that are unique to each site.

Please don't think me rude but I'm still waiting for some-one to tell me if the FS Sky World se 2.4 is any good, before I go and install it, that's assuming one of you out there has it or has tried it of course.  Smiley

I'm not intending to be rude please don't think that  Wink

I installed it, and I can't remember how the clouds were before I installed it. So it stays there. The clouds actually look pretty delicious with SkyWorld.

And the new thunder effects are fantastic too.....I installed them a long time ago and actually jumped last week when I heard them again in a storm!

Aha, thanks chaps, I installed them anyway last night, and their great!!!! I also have some different thunder sounds, where you get some quite brilliant crackling sounds, instead of the usual deep grumbles (there are still some grumbles though)  Smiley

Match the sounds with the looks of the sky and WOW! great stuff  Grin

Last night I flew under an overcast sky with it storming, but as I climbed, my aircraft starteds to shake violently, was this turbulence? I could barely control it, and sure enough the sign in red of STALL appeared at the bottom right corner of screen.

I descended and the plane came under control again, I suppose I've answered my own question here really! lol
