prob.

i am animating the flaps, so i go and tag the part l_flap right? then i do the same with the
other flap, i tag it r_flap.

Ace. I can't see your shots. LOL
I'm no great shakes with complex flap animation. Standard flaps do not need keyframe animation. Check those tags again from Part Properties. The l_flap & r_flap names are on the Aircraft Stock Animation list. All parts on this list should function by naming them correctly.  Make sure the Flaps Available =True(1) option is selected in the AIR file. The range of movement & cycle time can also be adjusted in the AIR file or Aircraft.cfg.

Hi Space
As I cant see the jpg's Sad so Im gunna take a guess ere as I think ive had simular probs
Because you have taged the flaps l_flap ect which is a aircraft stock animation (Ie basic drop down/up movement) then gone into keyframe animation to do tha advance movment FSDS wont compile the flap animation as it now has 2 diferent types of animation on the same part. You need to name them I think l_flap_key ect (it will be listed in the aircraft keyframe animation drop down list) then do the keyframe animation and all should be well:) .
Hope this helps
