Unless you want to get involved in the dubious delights of SCASM editing it would be better getting yourself FSDS2. IMHO
Corrado's SCASM editing tutes here. http://www.isoliti4gatti.com/scasm.htm

Mind you, in my experience, FSDS2 will take a while to get used to. Thanks to my friend & Fox Four colleague Hayden, creating breaking parts models with FSDS2 is quite straightforward once you get the hang of it. http://www.simviation.com/lair/cfs2korea.htm

PS. I haven't messed with the damage textures yet. That would involve a little more work.

well i have FSDS2, but i have not being able to figure out the animation process Sad i looked it up in the help menu but it talks about aircraft animator and other stuff is not used anymore, so i was wondering maybe u could point me in the right direction, or if u or someone else do the braking parts, i have no knowledge of programing whatsoever :p

OK. First I suggest you download the FS2002 MakeMDL SDK. http://zone.msn.com/flightsim/FS02DevDeskSDK00.asp
You should find it a useful reference as FSDS2 uses the same part name animation conventions as Gmax. It's easier in FSDS2 as the correct part names are selectable from a list - from FSDS2 Part Properties\Part Name. Some parts will be animated simply by using the correct part names. You will usually need to move/realign the Part Axis to make it look right. Other named parts like the gear require extra keyframe animation. This can be defined & set from FSDS2 Animation mode. All this is better explained in the Quick Tips section of FSDS2 Help.

For the breaking parts read Hayden's tute entitled  HOW TO BREAK YOUR PLANE IN CFS2 (WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM FSDS 2.1) posted at FFDS. http://www.freeflightdesign.com/tips.htm
Other specific tutes & tips on various subjects are posted on this & the Tutorials pages.

You might like to download & install the latest FSDS2 update here. http://www.abacuspub.com/fsds2/fsdsmain.htm
