I'm kind of curious as to what kind of little tricks poeple might have come up with.  We all know about the add-on managers and gauge wipers and such, but what about the neat little things people have come up with?

I can give two off-hand.

The first involves modifying the Send-To menu with shortcuts to the FS folders.

In Windows XP, go to C:/Documents and Settings/your logon/SendTo  and open the folder.  Make a shortcut to whatever folder you want (aircraft, gauges, scenery...) and place the shortcut in here.  Now when you right-click and choose Send To you will have the option of that folder.  I actually discovered this on Windows 98.  If you still have that, then the Send To folder is in C:/Windows/System folder, if I remember correctly.

...

The next involves setting up a toolbar for FS.  Again, make shortcuts to whatever folders you want.  Place a folder somewhere (I put it in the FS 2002 folder) and place these shortcuts in it.  Right click on the toolbar choose the option 'Toolbars' and then 'New Toolbar'  Direct the menu to the folder you created and the new toolbar will appear on the regular Taskbar.  Drag that toolbar up to the top or side of the screen and you have a new toolbar just for FS

Hi KD...!
Useful tips... Wink..!
A lot of people knock Uncle Bill's "Windows", but it's always amazing what little tricks are tucked away in there. It's just a case of ferritin' them out.. Grin...!
Some times a computer mag will devote a page or two to various Windows Tips...But if you didn't buy the mag, you didn't get the tips...LOL...!

Cheers mate.. 8)...!

P.S. ...Love the pics of the two little ones, they always look so happy... Grin...!

Thanks!  As I sit here typing, Alexander is napping and Olivia has pulled her little baby couch in front of the TV where Teletubbies is on.  She's laying down watching it, with her feet off the end of the couch kicking them as she eats an apple.  It is so much fun seeing them do things like that...

If you right-click on the background, you get the little menu. Towards the bottom is the 'new' options. How do you add and remove the selections on there???

TweakUI or XTeq Xsetup will let you delete things from the "new" menu.  Just search on Google - you can't miss them.  I don't know how to add things because I've never had to do it.

This may be something everyone but me knew!
When you've been working in ME for a time.
if you are going to change, say from online to
flying do a "restart", it almost stops hangups and
is quicker than a reboot if you get a hangup,
My computor guy told me about this and haven't
had a hangup in weeks, also he said to do a restart
and then shut down when you are finished using
the computor!! At first it seemed slow but it stoped
problems completely!!
