Here are some projects that I have in store for the Flight Simulator series.

Note: Only one of these projects will consist of a low-poly-but-detailed model.

This is practically the only aircraft that will be frame-rate friendly.
...

For those of you who like military choppers, here is the up-coming model. The fuselage itself will be one big piece.
...

This is for the SCI-FI fans out there. This is a replica of the USS Voyeger. This entire model is constructed out of an amazing "6" pieces only while still maintaining high level of detail. This will be THE biggest frame-rate eater of all.
...

And last, but not least, a car for those who cherrish automobiles. But not just a regular car like those previous one you saw for FS2002. The level of detail on this model will make it the second biggest frame-rate eater.
...

I was at the verge of sending these projects to the scrapyard. But thank god I saved them just in case. Now that I have mastered GMAX (90% of it's full potential), I am motivated enough to finish what I have left off.

All of the models that you see in the pics are made entirely of splines. Only the USS Voyeger has a few basic objects (boxes and a cylinder).

It took hard work and EXTREME patience to get these projects to where they are now.

The automobile that you see above is a Mercedes. I am still have trouble on the rear portion of the model as you can see. When it's completed and uploaded to simviation, it will be my most complex, highly detailed, and best freeware 3D car model ever made for FS2002.

However, there are others who make 3D (using 3DS Max I think) car models with even better details and graphics. I have mastered the art of the splines feature of GMAX by learning from the tutorials at www.onnovanbraam.com

But it seems that you people will have to wait for these projects to even start. I am currently busy making the cockpit and its details for Citation Excel Project.

Thanks.  Grin

Those pics are a great example as to how far you can go when you master the spline feature.

I used to work on the Delta Flyer (also a Star Trek ship) but the model didn't look so good. So I sent it to the scrapyard.

After I am done with the cockpit and its details for the Citation project, I will start on the Mercedes model. The trunk still needs work.

The interior of the Mercedes will be the biggest undertaking for me.

I will animate literally EVERYTHING on this model:

1. Moveble steering wheel
2. Movable brakes, clutch pedal, and accelerator pedal.
3. Animated doors, trunk, and hood
4. Steerable front wheels (the wheels themselves will be highly detailed as well)
5. Active suspension on all wheels
6. Reflective textures (both on surface and windows)
7. Highly active DVC with CD player. Grin
8. And detailed textures.

For a project like this, I estimate that it will take a year and 6 months. Probably more.

a year..oh i dont think so.. Wink For the CD player and such i got a pretty good idea..you take a gauge, lets say the gear lever, and repaint it and instead of activating the gear movement sound, you change it with a song or something. I think i might be able to do that. The model looks pretty much complete to me (rear of course isnt) Well you ask in case you need anything  Wink

I have an update on the
Mercedes SL 600

As you can see, I am having serious trouble with the trunk. You can see that I have no rear view background. As a result, I have no idea what the trunk looks like. Thus, I can't complete the exterior model without it.

...

Hey Oz, can you find me a rear image of the car? At least get me a photo image.

Now that's a good pic. Cheesy

OMG, I never thought the trunk would be that simple. Especially one that is manufactured by the German company. Grin

Thanks man.

Project Have Blue is almost finished. All it needs is adjustments to the wheel contacts and eyepoint.

The contacts:

However, when it comes to adjusting the wheel parameters in the Aircraft.cfg file, the darn plane tend to bounce around like a beach ball on a summer day.

Not only that, it tends to sink into the ground unexpectedly.

How can I get around that problem? Hey Oz, I can't seem to find that thread you said you posted long ago about the cfg or something like that.

The cause of this situation are the [contacts] list and the static height.

The eyepoint:

The eyepoint (point in which you can use to pan around the VC with) is alright to fix.

If you guys want a CD player/Radio in your car there is currently a gauge on this site that is a CD player. Unfortunately you can only add 5 MP3's or WAV's but you can always just play regular CD's with your computer's CD-ROM drive. You should check it out.

To set contact points check out the fs2000 aircraft container sdk. Info is for fs2000 but most of it works with the other M$ sims. Try this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2000_devdesk_sdk.asp

It may contain info on setting the view points also.

Pendercafts.com Downloads for Lost in Space, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Land of the Giants, addons for FS2002 and FS2004 and videos too

Then I better get moving. The interior of my model is one tough cookie to handle. Grin It's a good thing I have previous levels of my model.

Hey BMan, you're starting to sound like a competitor. Grin

I think the competition will be stiff soon. Grin

Actually the chopper is an RAH-66 Comanche. 21st century stealth chopper. A marvelous chopper with marvelous capabilities, and looks awesome. I dont think its gone into mass production, but i heard it is being tested and will be in full operational use with the US Army soon, before 2010.

Hey Katahu just an idea....

How bout you make the Star trek USS Enterprise E - sovereign class? One of my fav ST ships...and IMO the most beautiful. I got a perfect 3 view (has 5 views actually) for it and all technical specifications. And hey im thinkin something.....how bout a ST space station, maybe Deep space 9 or the other one specifically built for the parking of ships in space. Man id love to have a 'virtual deck' on the Enterprise  Grin. Well anyways here is the Enterprise, just in case you forgot   Tongue  Wink

Both of these choppers look much the same, and I like to Comanche too. I think there are few models of him out there though....

The Comanche has a relatively angular shape to deflect radar waves. The Ninja looks more like the AH-1 Cobra. The only Comamche out there is not very good, FSDS it hink.

Hey Oz, I like that Star Ship. 5 views huh? Now that's better (meaning a more detailed model).

I haven't been posting any new pics of the Mercedes SL600 because the interior is really giving me a hard time. In fact, creating the interior of a car is a hell lot harder than making an interior for a plane.

Oh, Oz. Try e-mailing me the 5-view image of the Enterprise E.
