I know, i thought i heard that too. Maybe the pics where you see straight ahead are only of the DVC's 12 o clock view. There will be a gauge bitmap i heard that will contain couple gauges only for reference. Anways whats the use of having another bitmap panel if you got a realistic cockpit and you can click switches and all..
OK, I'm ahead of you. Here's a couple of shots showing the DC-3 2D panel & DVC.

From the looks of the screenshots, the trees are 3D like CFS3. Maybe Pete could confirm this.
I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday.

I hope. Ive been waitin so long for 3d trees to appear in FS. the CFS3 trees are beautiful and realistic compared to the FS02 and previous trees. But we'll have to wait for pete since if you look at the 2d trees in FS02 from far away they seem to be 3d...when you get closer youll see theyre 2d.

You're welcome. My preview FS2004 turned up yesterday but I haven't had much time to check it out. I'm heavily involved in other things right now. From what I've seen so far all the trees are 2D crosses like the ones in FS2002. I could easily be wrong.

Thanks for those Doug.
Now doesn't that prove my point - the DVC is useless for all practical purposes!
I suppose they are of some value if all you want to do is faff around flying manually VFR using 'external' visual cues but if you are a serious IFR simpilot you never need em. All they do is take up download and disk space - and as I said before, often mess up perfectly good aircraft and prevent you using your panel of choice.

enThere are some DVC's out there that suck. imo, wasn't worth the designer's time to make.
On the other hand, there are some aircraft models with fantastic DVCs.

That's not completely true. I believe you can copy all the VC gauge info to whatever panel you want
