I think we've been needing this for a long while.  There have been a lot of topics asking for help on this subject, many started by myself. Roll Eyes

OK, let's go back over the basics.  The most important thing is that you can do a good steep turn.  Keep practising them until you can passs everytime you try.  I'ma fraid you will have to practice in the checkride as Rod Machado doesn't seem to watch you and just tells you did well even if you turned on a normal bank angle. Roll Eyes  You will get there eventually.

Secondly, be sure to re-trim after every power, pitch or heading change.  If you don't have auto-rudder on, you will have to trim your rudder as well as your ailerons and elevator.

OK, now the checkride.  When instructed, take-off and climb to 2000 feet.  Full power all the way up can't hurt.  Once at 2000 feet ruduce power to two thirds and trim your aircraft to fly straight and level hands off.  Turn to a heading of 090, when instucted.  Retrim after this and be sure to keep your altitude at 2000 feet.  Now, the steep turn.

It's not easy and it's not fun, but it has to be done.  Look out both windows when told and then roll the aircraft until your wings on the attitude indicator are parallel with the second diagonal line on your attitude indicator.  Add more power to keep you from stalling and apply some elevator to kepp your VSI needle centred on 0.  The only other thing is to make sure you roll back out on the correct heading of 090.  If you pass the instructor will say well done and tell you to turn to a heading of 120.

Once you're on the heading of 120,(retrim) oyu'll be heading toward Tacoma Narrows airport.  The bridge will appear first.  The airport is on a small raised bit of land just to the right of the bridge from where you should be.  When instructed, turn to 180 degrees and descend to 1300 feet.(Retrim).  You should also lower your speed to 90 knots.

Once you're at 1300 feet, 90 knots and trimmed properly, drop one notch of flaps and retrim.  Now enter the downwind leg, by turning left 170.  When you see the airport at in your rear left view, enter the base leg by turing to 080.  Keep you speed and altitude correct by retrimming and watch the aiport on your left. At the correct time, turn onto final approach.  Heading is 350.

Once lined up correctly, drop your flaps right down and reduce speed to 60 knots.  Now trim your aircraft to glide down onto the number of the runway, adding or reducing power as nessecary to keep your speed a constant 60 knots.  Once you've landed and braked to a stop, the certificate will appear on your screen like this:

Type in your name and print it off. Wink

Easy once you know how to do a steep turn, really. Smiley

How long after completing the steep turn before she's supposed to tell me to turn to 120 degrees? I passed the steep turn, rolled out on 90 degrees and kept flying. I flew past tacoma narrows and never heard a word, then I accidentally closed the flight Roll Eyes Embarrassed

Well done Andrew. Wink

She tells you to turn to 120 in the same sentence as 'Well done', as you seem to have discovered. Smiley

I did it just for fun...

As long as they won't do VOR holds it's ok for me because that one is buggy in.

And for the rest... i just takeoff and usually discover stall speeds and such by trial and error

Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and An-24RV&&&&AI flightplans and repaints can be found here
