In PSP7 the panel im workin on looks like this
And thats the way its supposed to be - and as you can see no areas are 0 0 0 all the way (or so i hope..) However, when i save it (first decreased color to 24bit..) and go into the sim it shows up like this
And if you copy-paste this image into any pro paint program youll see most areas are pure black when they arent supposed to be, and they still appear in the sim. Can anyone help me solve this problem??

You obviously missed a few True Black pixels. This gets emphasised when you convert the image from 24 bit to 8 bit. It can be quite a job finding them all, especially when the actual panel uses similar shades. I suggest changing the True Black transparent areas to a garish colour like bright green with the Fill tool. This might help but it all comes down to tracking down those rogue pixels.
Staring at those pesky pixels for too long gives me a headache. LOL
Finally, you can change back to True Black for the transparent areas.

I know there are some pure black pixels in the top two canopy frames, left and right (near the little annunciators..) but i really want to know why the color
inside
the panel itself appears pure black in the sim instead of the color i had applied in PSP. Is it a problem with the decrease of the color depth?

Ah OK, I misunderstood. I suspect the problem is caused when you convert to 8 bit. Also the the reduction option you use in PSP7. I find this option works for most FS purposes.
It might also help to lighten the panel colours up a bit.
