I'm working on a project to convert FS2002 models to CFS3 format. The problem is CFS3 cannot read the files. Wait mods, don't move this just yet! This is just an into.
Anyway what I think is causing the problem is LODs in Gmax, the SDK says I shouldn't have them. So how do I get rid of them? Also I was trying to convert the sample FS2002 models but they have so many parts. If there a list I can click on to bring up or highlight an individual part of the model?
I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday.

"H" brings up the "Select Objects" dialog box,and you can select parts individually.
If the LOD parts are grouped, then you can also select by group instead of the parts individually.
Note that the Select Objects dialog box is also one of the icons (looks like the cursor on a list - to the left of the "move" icon) on the bar.

LOD´s don´t cause a problem neither when converting from FS2002 to CFS3 nor v.v (this presumes that you´re using middleman to export to FS2002) since they use pretty much the same format.
however, some naming tags in the FS2002 source files can cause that. Quite a bit of renaming to do, esspecially light tags are not well liked by the CFS3 exporter.
would be the next idea, you shure use the CFS3 export format in Gmax? Mind you, compiled FS models don´t work at all in CFS3 and v.v.
