in a P-38 i have, there is drop tanks, and there are keys to drop them, exept they are not shown on the actual model.... it's ctrl+shift+1, 2, or 3 or ctrl+1, 2, or 3. i thought it might be an animation

What about lav_dump_valve animation!!

Thats how my bombs and droptanks dropped on the F-15s I made!!

The dropping (to be visible) needs to be modelled during construction in FSDS2 or Gmax.

Hope it helps.

i don't have either, i use Zmodeler, but they are modeled seperate. and they aren't "drop pods," but are stages in a rocket:

Problem is that the animation in FSDS and Gmax makemodel relates to part names recognised by FS.

Not sure how you'd do that..... Sad

Hellhound. In FS2002 the pods would need to be part of the aircraft visual model. i think you would only get the illusion of dropping them by a combination of animation & visibility when hitting the appropriate key. It's possible to add tanks/external weapons separately & actually drop/fire them in CFS2. This can be done in FSDS but I'm not sure about Gmax.

the CFS3 gamepack is a separate download ..  you can truly make a "free" airplane - for CFS3.

CFS2 planes are compatible with FS2002, but the modelling procedure is the same. Youd need FS2002Pro gamepack to make planes for CFS2.

Just one point or maybe 2. The gamepack included with FS2004 beta is the same as the one in FS2002 Pro. Also, I spotted an FSFSCONV converter folder in the AIRCRAFT folder.  I'm sure I didn't put it there myself. Wink

PS. Why aren't some of the latest replies to this topic showing up?  ???

The fsfsconv (fsfs converter) folder contains generic panels for aliasing to. This was introduced with the FS98 Converter which was released as a separate update. The Converter was included with CFS1 & FS2000.  This made it much easier to install aircraft designed for the previous M$ sims. It's all explained in my Aliasing article. http://www.simviation.com/lair/aliasing1.htm
For some unknown reason the idea was dropped with CFS2 & FS2002. If I'm not completely mistaken they have included it with FS2004. This does seem a little late as nobody will know what it's for. Roll Eyes

No I have no connection with M$. They do send me preview copies of their software.
