as the title says does life get easy?
just as things seem to be going my way, wham i get hit with something else. just the other day i end up speaking to my ex's sister(we talk every now and again and are still friends) the problem starts when she tells me i should try and get her back, i wont go into the details as to why we broke up as that was something i promised to keep between us. but anyway, she starts going on how she isnt her usual bubbly self with her current boyfriend and how she was happier with me and so on, now its obviously difficult to tell if she is completley accurate in these observations, admitidly from the few times i have spoken to my ex she has seemed less like herself. but again it could just be my ex's sister not liking this guy and wanting him gone, so now i am left thinking what the hell do i do, and do i risk any future chance by getting involved now. i aint looking for a fight with this guy as me and fighting are bad thing, last time was few years ago and it was lucky there were alot of people round to pull me off the guy,  and i refuse now to get into fights with anyone.
all i need to know is does it get easier with age? i am 19 and i am being put through more stress than i think is normal and fair. Undecided
oh to be retired like fozzer, carefree most difficult desicion has to be what time to eat breakfast:) wanna swap mate?  Grin

You're just getting started! I'm 37 and been through so much crap and dealt with so much bulls**t that I could write a book about it...if I could remember it all. Tongue
At 19 I had no idea how much more difficult life was gonna get, not trying to discourage you or anything, this is based on my own life.
I think most would agree that life doesn't get easier, but as you mature, situations just get easier to deal with through wisdom learned from previous experiences.

Good luck for the future.

Hmmm. Why do I get a feeling of deja vu Craig? Seems we've been down this road before. Admit it, you never got over this ex of yours. Her sister is not helping at all.

I could give you my advice to forget it & move on. Stop seeing these people for a while if that helps & find new interests. There's plenty more fish in the sea so go out & find them. That would be the sensible way but I know you won't listen. Only you can make that decision.

In my experience, life doesn't get any easier. The priorities change & you might manage to cope with it better, that's all. I can't speak for Fozzer but I'm retired too. I'm quite satisfied with my life but would willingly swap with you any day.  Wink

thanks guys:)
and hagar your right i havent but the problem is, when it comes down to the basics of meeting other people thats not my scene, i have always had this select group of friends, and i dont have much interest in going out meeting new people as such, i am perfectly happy concentrating on things like my studies and prepairing for getting my pilots license. but for some reason this one person seems to have something that wont let me just forget about her, seeing as i have moved so many times and had to forget about people in the past its just unbelievable. oh well maybe this summer away will do me good.
or at least keep my mind on something else for once:)
thanks guys

Craig, just walk away mate! A few times I went back, and it only made things much more messy and painful in the end! Trust me I've been there a few times (it used to be every couple of weeks I changed girlfriends, I think I was a bit of a tart!)
Just get out there and socialise a little, I'm sure you'll meet the right girl. I thought it'd never happen to me. I've been v.happily married for nearly 2 years now! I was a late starter at marriage at 29, so it shows don't rush into anything.
You're 19, enjoy life (I was only 18 when I attended my first war). Drink lots of beer and snog as many girls as you can, its what life is all about at your age, having fun. It only gets more serious later (although my wife says I seem to be getting more childish lately...)

Sounds to me like you need a holiday Craig!
Alcohol isn't the answer, trust me I tried that too. In the military there is a hard-man drinking culture, and it caused me a few problems.
Best advice take a break in Prague or Budapest, cheap beer and more beautiful and intelligent girls than you could shake an elephant at! Why do you think my wife is Hungarian? They breed them smart and gorgeous out here. Come out for a holiday!!!

The running isn't going to badly thanks Craig!!!
I'm doing an introductory class to climbing and abseiling this weekend (I've got enough weight off to squeeze into my harness) Grin
Actually its only 'cos the missus and a lot of my friends are away at the moment I'm drinking, I've got nothing better to do, and much as I hate to admit it I loathe being seperated from my better half. She is a v.special lady (I mean a freefall parachute course for my 30th birthday, and she has relented to let me build the Spit replica in the garage!).
One v.special lady, and I'm lucky to have her. You need a Hungarian girl Craig, they are just the best!!!!

  What??
Okay, I know all the drinkers in here are gonna beat me up now, but trust me, alcohol is the worst possible thing you could do to yourself when things are not going your way.
You can not make clear decisions when you are drinking, I know you are going to drink if you get the urge no matter what anybody says, but I figure I would just let you in on a few things alcohol has done for me:

Alcohol has landed me in jail more than once.
It caused me to lose my drivers license for 6 months.
It has gotten me into many fights....with people who used to be my friends!
When drinking I believe I can put my fist through anything and have done a lot of damage to myself.
The woman that I loved more than anything in the world left me after five years due to my little love of the drink. I got lucky and she came back....after three years of seperation and my promise to never touch a drop of alcohol again, a promise I have kept for almost four years now.

I used to be the life of the party when I was drinking, but when I had 10 too many I became the guy no one wanted to be around because I would try to start a fight with everyone...for no reason.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot the time I pulled a gun on my brother because he tried to tell me I'd had enough.
NOBODY tells me when I've had enough.

Not to mention all the times I woke up in very unusual places, not remembering how I got there, or all the times I drank until I puked and swore I would never do it again....until the next time.

I know what you are going to say: "You had a serious drinking problem" and you know how I will respond: "Yep, I was a full blown alcoholic," I didn't really crave it, but alls it took was one beer, and I would not stop until I passed out, or all the alcohol was gone, or the bar closed.

I can honestly say that all the worst problems I've ever had to deal with were directly related to alcohol consumption, and it all started out by just having a few beers with my friends.
I love to drink and anyone would tell you I was great fun to drink with, but it got really out of control.

But that's just my story, I know some folks can have a few beers and call it a night, and they do this their whole lives, I wish I could have been that way, but I don't miss it now, my head is clear and I can see all the trouble drinking caused me, and how much it cost me in the end.

I don't want to sound preachy, that's just not me, I can only tell you my story, and everyones story is different, but don't think for one second that drinking makes your problems go away, it only makes you forget about them for the moment, and you just might find yourself where I was, waking up the next day in some field, and on the long walk home you realize that your problems are still there and a lot of times the things you can't remember that you did while you were having a great time drinking only made them worse.

I am totally clean now, I quit drinking, smoking cigarettes, (both tobacco and funny) and using other chemicals, I figure I'm 37 and I spent the first half of my life getting f'd up and having fun, and I did have a lot of fun, playing in bands, getting layed, raising hell, but now I want to be healthy and stay out of trouble.

But you're only 19 so you are going to have to learn these things on your own, and I would never tell someone not to do something that I myself had done in the past, just be careful with the choices you make in life, it sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders, get your education and pilots license, stick to your goals and stay focused. I've been through a lot with women so I know where you're coming from, and my advice in that department is let her come back to you, if she wants to work it out she will let you know, it's cool to talk as friends, every relationship starts out as a friendship, but if you try to push it you'll just push her away.
I don't want to make your situation seem hopeless because there is always a chance, but this will probably not be the only female that will do this to you, there will be others down the road, so just go with the flow.

And that's all I gotta say 'bout that.

                                                       Paz out

P.S. If someone tells you drugs will help, I got stories for that too.
Well Fozzers magic mushrooms probably wouldn't hurt....
nah...wouldn't hurt at all
