Common problem.  You need to make sure your aircraft.cfg file is set up to handle the radios.  The C172 setting is:

[Radios]
// Radio Type=availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1=1
Com.1=1, 1
Com.2=1, 1
Nav.1=1, 1, 1
Nav.2=1, 1, 0
Adf.1=1
Transponder.1=1
Marker.1=1

So just cut & paste this into your Corsair aircraft.cfg file.

I checked the default Corsair .cfg file and it doesn't even have radio settings -  maybe that's why I only flew it once.

Just make sure your radio settings in the aircraft.cfg file match the radio in your panel.  Overkill in the aircraft.cfg won't hurt so you can cut and paste settings from a 2 radio ac, you just won't be able to tune them unless you have a 2 radio panel.

Jim
I checked the 172, the bravo
and several others, the radios don,t
seem to do anything??, The ones in the
Corsair are a copy of the 172, cfgs
match. It's like I don"t know how to
turn them on Sad
The autopilot works great in the Corsair!
Is there a switch I'm overlooking?
The ATC works fine with the Corsair
The radio stack pops up with shft+3
???x ???

Thanks for the reply Cheesy

It sounds like possibly the avionics aren't switched on?

If it doesn't have a switch on the panel for avionics I'd add one.

Thanks I'll check that out,
I've never messed with the
radios until some asked about the
Corsair thing and I started playing
around with them!
The plane I learned to fly in, didn't
have radios Shocked Shocked, it was a long time ago Tongue

Thanks for the reply

"...the radios don't seem to do anything..."

Is it just this ac or others?  You may have missing gauges.

It's a little late here in the US (God only knows what hours Tipster keeps) but I'll fly the Corsair some time in the next 24 hrs and let you know what I find.

No Problem. Give me a few minutes and I'll sort you a switch out that will look much better than the one you've got in there.

Please upload or email the files, cuz the default ac is a piece of crap - reminds me why I only flew it once.

Are we talking aircraft or panels here? Changing the panel won't affect its performance. The FS2002 Corsair (or Vought) is straight out of CFS2, hence the lack of radio or nav aids. I suppose it was intended as some sort of bonus.

x - The Extra's avionics switch looks a lot better than the one you're using.

Here's a typical panel.cfg entry for it:

gauge27=Extra-300!Avionics Switch,338,188

I was talking about the panel - no radios, gps, autopilot.  So I added Tipster's avionics switch and I'll go back later and add the other stuff.

When I opened up the cfg I found this entry:

;gauge18=F4U1A_Corsair!Hydraulic_Pressure,494,387

What's the semicolon?  Is it a REMark?

PS to Tipster - I have another panel that's giving me all kinds of problems.  If you get a chance please read my post in Scenery & Panel Design.

Any ";" entry in a .cfg file is a comment mark. This means that everything following it on the same line is ignored by the file. In that particular case, the gauge is being ignored.

I'll nip across and look at the other panel prblem shortly.

I replied to your problem in scenery and design. Hope I explained it clearly enough.

Let me know if you want me to do you a guage - it's only a 20 minute job for that particular one.

Is it REM'd out in the original file?

I'll just put it back in and see what happens.
