Does anyone know how to set up that smoke effect? I made a campfire with a day and night texture (fire's banked in daytime) and was wondering how you would set up smoke like some sceneries have.

Hi,
Somebody on another forum told me to use FSeffect. Honestly its a very good program.
You can get it here:
http://www.echos.ch/eod/fsfx.htm

Hope this utility helps you.

That does the trick.

...

Although the smoke is a little hard to see with the mountain in back of it. The man is an element from FS Scenery Enhancer. I used it to get the scale right for the equipment and the two boys are students that I tutor in the summer.

Would FSEffects and/or EDO allow me to view smoke/effects

I have a few addon effects (fx) that I've forgotten the purpose or look of, and I've added/modified some [smoke system] entries.  I've also read the SDK which, as usual, was of very little use to the beginner.

I am looking for a utility that will let me select an fx or smoke system entry and show a graphic of how that would look without having go through the trial and error method of modifying the files, then loading FS.

Will either of these progs do that?  If not, does anyone know of another utility that will?

Thanks, Wils. I've done a pretty thorough search with Google and a few FS sites.  This was the closest thing I could find so far.

I think about the only way to view effects is to load them into a flight and view them from FS2002. I have the same gripe about seeing the objects. You have to create them, texture them and start FS2002 to see what you've done. If it's wrong then you have to go back and start over. Or at least that's the process using EOD and FSSC. You can't even update while in FS2002. It needs to be restarted every time you make a change.

A simple little macro viewer that plugs into your texture folder and shows one single object would be a welcome utiilty. Just a hint to the programmers who do that kind of thing. I'd be very grateful and I'm sure others would be also.
