Hello again, everybody.
Earlier, I made my acquaintance here as a newbie to the world of flight sims.
My latest experience apparently proves that.
While trying to configure my joystick (the Logitech Freedom 2.4 USB), I was inside CFS3's "control options"--and when I click on "calibrate" under either the "assignments" or "sensitivities" tab--the whole program just locks up. The computer doesn't respond to any inputs, either.
Testing the joystick in the device manager tree reveals no problems ("this device is working properly"). All the diagnostics on the joystick check ok during installation. I have downloaded from Logitech the latest vsn software and drivers (i.e., joystick "profiles") for this stick that are relevant to CFS3. No improvement.
Rest of system:
Atlon XP 2000
Asus A7N8X Deluxe (vsn 2) mobo
Radeon 9500 Pro videocard
512 mb of Corsair XMS-PC3500 DDR memory
WD 80gb JB HD
Windows XP Pro, with SP1
Surely this stick needs some fine-tuning by CFS3 b4 I go off into the wild blue yonder on training missions. Any suggestions on what could be a solution (or the culprit) here? ???
If you should need more info, just let me know.
Also: from what I see, the Microsoft patch apparently did not completely get rid of the "stutter" issue. Anybody find anything more effective for this problem?
