AngryAnybody else experiencing this: When I try to trim out for level flight the planes wont hold the trim setting. As soon as I move the joy stick to adjust couse, make a turn etc.. the trim setting goes back to the default setting for take off and the plane climbs for the stars. This happens regardless of throttle posision, air speed or altitude and it occurrs with every plane in the sim. I have installed the patch and found it did not help this condition at all. Any ideas on this anybody? >:

Fury I've had no such problems. What stick are you using?

The joy stick I'm using is a Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold USB. My system is a Gateway/Pentium 3 850 MHZ processor with 384 MB of RAM, running Win XP PRO. Surprisingly (at least from what I've been reading in the forums), I am having very little trouble running this sim, other than the trim problem.
Thanks for any help you can give me

Fury do you have any other peripherals attached to USB ports? Just in FS2k2 I know this can cause problems. Might be worth unplugging any extras just in case. Also do your trims work normally in other sims?

Ok, I've tried removing all USB peripherals and running the game, this has not made any difference. The trim problem still happens. As far as other sims go, I've run CFS 1 and 2 as well as FS2K2 and generally I don't have any trouble except with a couple of VB planes P-51's and one of their Spitfires in CFS2. These three planes exibit the same trim trouble. Wierd huh!

Thanks for the response Ozzy

Hi there,

Just to let you know - its not you!
The same thing happens to me . I am also running XP pro , and I use a Logitech wingman stick - I wonder if its the XP pro ?
Anyway I just ignore the trim and adjust it manualy

First thing you do is find the command for autotrim, assign a key to it (mine's on my stick), and when you start a mission, hit the key so that you get the message "Autotrim disabled".
Unless you're flying 100% realism, the autotrim is enabled at the start of a mission.

Rgr on the autotrim.
Besides, I had the same problem with the dreaded trim reset inspite of autotrim being dissabled.
Re-assigning the trim keys has helped me.
