It may have nothing to do with an error on M$ part, but could be a problem with the .AIR file for the particular aircraft you have.

I have had this happen before. Got really pi$$ed about it. Then I found MY mistake. My plane had the autopilot activated. As I was taking off it was trying like heck to  put the plane at the altitute, speed and heading that was set.

And the original author should note that Microsoft didn't supply a 767, which narrows it down to either a fault with a 3rd party aircraft or pilot error in one of the procedures.

Either way, there's no point in blaming Microsoft.

Try reinstalling the aircraft. I had that problem with the Dassault Falcon and a reinstall fixed it. I know it's wierd and there's no rational explaination why but it worked.

I'm surprised no one commented on the fact that it took him 30 minutes to get clearence.  I once waited about 15, then had to shut down to go to work.  I'm just waiting for the day that all of the grounded planes are waiting for clearence, and slowly the in-flight ones keep coming in for landings, and not stop untill no on is left in the air to block clearence.  Then one plane will get clearence to take off.  Just one, no more.  Okay, maybe more, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I noticed this but waited to see other comments before replying. I spend much of my time checking out new aircraft, both my own designs & other designers' work. If I had to wait even 5 minutes for ATC clearance every time I did this it would drive me potty.  ???
I suggest saving a flight for testing purposes with no ATC or AI traffic. Make it the Default Flight. It only takes a moment to select a different aircraft from the Create A Flight menu & you're up and running on the runway & ready to go. There are uncontrolled airports in FS2002 or disable the features while you check it out.

This is obviously a 3rd party aircraft as others have pointed out. I don't see how M$ can be blamed for something they have no control over. The problem is either a bug in the design or, more likely, down to you. If you have this problem with the default aircraft I suggest you check out your joystick.

Giotessari:  How long did you wait before taxiing to the runway?  I meant to ask that on my last post.  I've noticed that the longer you wait to get there, the longer you will have to wait for the other planes comming in, and the ones comming out.  I've found that if I go through ground clearence  and taxi as soon as the session starts and be first to the runway, I don't have a clearence problem.  But if I wait and not taxi untill 3 or 4 other planes are lined up, then not only am I waiting for them to take off, but the number of incoming planes seems to grow, with less time between them to take off.

A lot of early congestion problems are caused by the way FS2002 deals with AI flightplans.

When you first load up the flight, FS2002 releases all AI traffic due to take off in the 15 minutes prior to the flight start time.

That obviously can lead to a major queue at a busy airport. You either have to make a dash for the runway before the A.I. starts moving, or perhaps wind time forward 30 minutes or so with the simrate, so that it's settled down to realistic levels. Otherwise you'll likely be queuing as you've experienced.

Once again, like in many other complaints, the originator of the thread has yet to come back and let us know if any advise helped
