Hmm,

If I remember correctly, there is an entry in the .air file called "N1 inertia" which affects the spool up rate by chaging the inertia of the N1 compressor.

However, I haven't been able to find this in a FS2002 .air or .cfg file.

Maybe someone else knows the answer?

RIC thanx for your reply i have found the N1 inertia setting in the .air file but it doesnt seem to affect the spool up rate. However i found my problem it was my fuel flow gain setting. IT WAS WAY TOO LOW
[TurbineEngineData]
fuel_flow_gain=0.000904     <-----------WAY TOO LOW Tongue
inlet_area=12.404000
rated_N2_rpm=29920.000000
static_thrust=17000.000000
afterburner_available=1
reverser_available=0

Thnx for your help though

some 'turbine engine data' numbers you might wanna use in case you're not pleased with the one you got  Wink:

[TurbineEngineData]
fuel_flow_gain=0.002
inlet_area=23.200
rated_N2_rpm=32920.000
static_thrust=16000.000
afterburner_available=1
reverser_available=0

Those are supposed to be accurate F-18 fuel specs and such. Hey mustang BTW, you got any beta testers or searching for anyone to test that F-18? Im a bit interested and id be delighted to give good critism for improvement, if any.
