Hi.

I am a newbee with this and have some questions.

How come some planes shows in the list but not others?
For example a Pitts shows but not the Polikarov I16.

Which 'list'?  For a new AC to show up in free flight, the name of the aircraft on the AC folder and in the first line of the 'aircraft' file must match EXACTLY.  For one to become active in QC, you must (unless there was a self-install program involved) physically place the aircraft name (as in free flight, EXACTLY) in the QC roster using all of the correct symbols.  This can be done manually or via a program available from this host site.
In addition, all of the pertinent files must be present and correctly written in a folder to 'assemble' the AC so CFS2 can 'read' it.  If there's any simple omission or error in ANY file, you get zip.  Take a look in one of the original AC folders as an example of what's needed.

Tralfaz. This is not correct. The folder name & Aircraft.cfg title= name can be completely different & usually are. Aircraft.cfg does not need editing for the aircraft to display on the menu.

The main thing here is to make sure that the "aircraft container" folder is correctly installed. A very common problem is when it's hidden inside another folder. Please follow the instructions in this tute carefully. http://www.simviation.com/acinstall.htm

Aircraft intended for FS98/2000 will also work in CFS2 but need a few tweaks to show up on the menu. Please read this to fix other common problemshttp://www.simviation.com/lair/aliasing1.htm
Before attempting to install jets & helos to CFS2 pay particular attention to the relevant sections.

Hey Broden,

Welcome to the Forum mate. You'll have a great time with all the different planes, missions and add-ons available here (and elsewhere).

But to reinforce what Hagar advised. You really do have to have a read of the relevant Tutorials on the Main page. Otherwise you'll end up going in circles and wasting time doing all sorts of unnecessary things when just a simple adjustment would have done the trick.

Pay particular attention to the short tutorial on "Aliasing". It is the most common cause for planes "not showing up" in the Sim.

Have a great flight.  Grin
