I have the Fleet Canuck that I downloaded here at Simviation. Whenever I fly it I get a continous morse code identifier that doesn't stop. I've tried changing frequencies and the keyboard shortcuts to turn off all identifiers but nothing stops it. It's a nice plane but that noise for an hour without stop drives me crazy. The only way I can stop it is to turn off power to all avionics equipment. That stops it but it also leaves me without any avionics.

If you go into the settings/sounds you can adjust all of your volumes.  Either turn the engine noise up or the navigational aids noise sounds down.

Or make sure that none of IDENTs are turned on for the NAV1, NAV2, ADF or the MARKER BEACONS.  This is found on the audio panel, usually above the radio stack.

I've turned the idents off, or at least tried to. It seems to be limited to only the one aircraft, Fleet Canuck 80 Floats. When I switch to another aircraft the sound stops but when I switch back it's there again. It also seems to be one of two different identifiers either

"- - - . - . - . ." or ". - . ."

wich doesn't change no matter where I am or how far I fly I never seem to get out of range. It has to be a quirk with the configuration file or something. I guess on this aircraft I'll have to do without auditory idents and double check my navigation frequency settings.

I like the plane but for this one little quirk.

Well, I just kicked the sucker out to walk at 5000 AGL. Don't know what I really did but I compared the Canuck .cfg file to the Lake Renegade file and the section on radios had one difference. I changed:

"Audio.1=0"

to:

"Audio.1=1"

and I don't have the noise any more.

Now does anyone know what the heck I did?  ???

Enabled the audio panel in the aircraft, despite the fact that  I assume it doesn't have one.

By enabling it, you then enable the keyboard shortcuts you were previously trying to use without success and are therefore able to turn off what was undoubtedly a radio ident signal.

All your keyboard shortcuts to shut down the indents wouldn't have helped with the aircraft.cfg set as it was.

Well I'm glad I did something right even if it was just dumb luck.  Smiley Here I had this plane that was a joy to fly except for the continous identifier playing the whole flight.

It has an audio panel but I clicked on about everything on it and it still wouldn't shut off. I haven't flown this plane much, I use it mainly for short side trips. About the longest flight I've made has been about an hour from Kinloss to Loch Ness (including sightseeing) to see if MS put in the monster. They didn't. I camped out on the shore of the Loch and even spread some bait fish around the tent and nothing except a couple ducks showed up.  Had to wipe duck poo off the windscreen in the morning. Grin

Guess I'm on to Dumbarton to see some family there. Hope they aren't too surprised. Only been 250+ years since they heard from our side of the family.  Grin Grin
