One of the most aesthetically pleasing fighters to grace the skies, the Hawker Hunter (back when aesthetics went hand in hand with performance), was to be the base for a twin engined civil business jet.

Yes, come on Felix, spill the beans. My immediate thought was the HS 125 (Hawker 800) until I remembered this started life as the DH 125, designed & developed by a completely different company. ???

I only found out about a year ago after doing some research, and i found that such clasic aircraft as the Buc and the Vulcan aren't licenced, and therfore not alowed to fly in the UK!  But they do fly in places like Africa! Embarrassed

I don't think Jake is putting Africa down. More likely he's regretting we can't see the stuff you still have flying there. Wink

Hey Henk lots of people here like Africa! Its a cool place with interesting animals and foods. GreG is from Zimbabwe (he's around in this forum a fair old bit).
My godfather goes to Africa (either Kenya or S.Africa) twice a year on holiday, and a number of my friends go there too. Oh and one of my best friends is from S.Africa (but he's living in England at the moment)!

I would just like to make it clear that i am not putting any country in the world down, but simply saying that it is unfair for only a few countries to enjoy some classic planes, which i would love to see.

I'd like to add a little about the forthcoming Eurofighter Typhoon Henk mentioned.

Take a trip over to http://www.dsbdesign.cjb.net/ and look in their forum. There are screenshots of the panel and aircraft in the Typhoon section.

I'm in no way connected with David Brice or the website. I just want to say that from what I've seen of this aircraft, it's going to be truly AWESOME.

I'm not a lover of fighter aircraft but this plane is unquestionably the exception. The quality is unbelievable and the fact that it's being released as freeware is nothing short of astounding in my opinion.

I would like to know what the Shackleton project is?
I think that the Eurofighter typhoon sets the argument earlier on Freeware Or Payware! Smiley

I have had a look at the stuff, it truly is amazing.
When i tried to download the stuff it said that there was an error on the page, help! Sad

My understanding is that the ftp server (to which the downloads on that page link) hasn't been set up yet.

Gents,

I would just like to add that the DSB Shackleton will be payware as it is for a fundraising project. We need some serious cash to keep 1722 in the
FLYING
condition that she is in. if you go look at the Shackleton 1722 page you can see she looks amazing  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
