Guys, i am scared as heck about turbulence. I haven't visited the forums in the last two weeks because of school work.....feel like i need to say this because i don't like missing anything.
The reason for this topic is turbulence phobia . Like when i was scared of snakes till i learned about them and then i thought they were cool, then i need some help from all you there to get me over this weakness, if you will.
I once experienced turbulence, all innocent like, but not a memory worth of my brain. I was going over the clouds and i expericne this out of nowhere. I was still learning the basics of FS and you can guess what kind of experience this is. I mean, it freaked me out, and it is just a simulator.
I am afraid of just stalling, and turbulence gives me that idea. I hate flying in blindness. I am assured i can fly perfectly with my instruments now, but i don't trust my skills. Like Tipster, i read your night and no landing lights on leg 10 and i must tell you i wouldn't have been able to do that. Turbulence comes from clouds, cliuds give zero visiblity, so i am scared just thinking about it. I have that set off in FS but i want to experience it.
Help, thanks

Hi John,
First, I'd advise not reading my Leg 11 report until you've a large cushion to hide behind and a stiff drink at your side!
I'm a little unclear as to a couple of points in your post that you might perhaps clear up before I try and offer any asistance.
Is this a real world flying fear that your trying to overcome or are we confining ourselves to the world of simulation? I appreciate that the phobia itself may be real, I'm just not sure whether you're looking for help in overcoming this in anticipation of a real flight or a simulated one?
Secondly, what, exactly, is it that you're after? Although you described your feelings very well, I'm unsure whether you want to know how to create turbulence in FS2002 so you can address it, or something else?
I'm sure the other simmers will come to your aid as will I once these questions are cleared up.

Boris_G and ysteinbuch have summed it up for ya. Face your enemy. Go to weather in your sim, and set the turbulance to low until you get used to that setting, and then medium, and then to severe. Conquer those three steps and you'll be fine. Turbulance in the real world is a whole other issue. "A little turbulance doesn't hurt." Safe flyin.

Maybe you should take an intro flight in a
real
airplane and see for yourself, you learn to take control of things and not make them bad. Like your fear of snakes, you got over it... but not until you learned about them and had a hands on experience. I am a deathly afraid of heights, but you can call me any day and ask me if I want to go flying (real airplane) and you won't even be able to finish your question before I answer YES!
