What kind of sound systems does everyone have, I mean home theater. Just curious.

Twin Koss 40W speakers

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. Well......since I used to consult and design Home Theatre Systems,  lets just say...................

This is in my "media Room".

1 Epson Super bright 1800 lumen DLP Projector.
1 Stewart 7 1/2 x 10 ft. high gain screen. You should see FS2k2 on this!!!!
1 Denon 7.0 Dolby THX Digital Audio / Video Surround Proccesor / switcher.
1 faroudga line quadroupler, this takes your regular NTSC video signal and bounces it up to 1024 x 768.
1 Sony Dvd, Mp3 player. (Also Burns DVD's).
1 Sony PVR Sattelite receiver.
1 pair of Polk Audio Front Left and Right Speakers.
1 Polk Audio Center Speaker.
1 pair in Niles in wall ceiling "side" speakers.
1 pair of Niles in wall ceiling "Rear surround speakers.
1 Polk Audio 250 watt Subwoofer.

This is my "House System"

Now I have a line level feed out of the Media Room Audio Distro system going down to the basement that "feeds" the House system wich is seperate from the Media Room System.

House System

1 Carver Pre-amp.
1 Bose EQ.
2 Adcom 500 watt power amps.
2 Adcom Impedence matching speaker distobutors.
This feeds audio to seperate Niles 150 watt volume controls wich are located in each room of my house, a total of 7.
These volume controls go to Niles "in wall" ceiling speakers for full range audio control in any room in the house.

Now lets go outside to my backyard:
1 Rockcoustics 250 watt "Sub Rock" buried 3ft into the ground.
6 Niles OS20 outdoor speakers.

My PC has an audio feed to the Main system wich allows me to open up my MP3 Player in my computer, select lets say,  "Jazz Mix".... and we are ready to entertain guests, drink wine, eat steaks and never be without music.
The best line I get from my freinds and guests is.."You even have music in the Bathoom!!!

So as you can see, (or hear), my house is "wired" pretty thoroughly. Many years of saving money and hard labor. There is not a corner in my house I have not been in. Ceilings, crawl spaces, basement, attic......
But it is all worth it at the end of the day!!
Put my daughter to bed, pour a glass of wine or a frosty mug of beer, slip back into my easy chair with my wife, turn the system on and...........

Lifestyle 35 (By Bose) It was a birthday gift from my brother, and I love every bit of it.

It has:
  • 5.1 Surround Sound
  • DVD, CD (obviously) MP3, PCM, MPEG
  • Acoustimass - super subwoofer system - I have had the police called a few times about it
  • Digital Dynamic Range - don't remember what that does
  • can be used in two rooms at the same time

Its a nice system, I will get a link about it for yall if you want more info.

Here is my super-sonic, ultra efficient, zero-battery powered, long lasting Germanium crystal rocket radio.....I know its old but they work fine on AM if the transmitter is strong, close and clean, as long as you have a piece of tall pipe or  RF attracting wire or cable for an antenna.......
