You can't dogfight as such in FS2k2. However some stuff can be ported between CFS2 and FS2k2, not to sure about scenery. There are some weapons packs available, but the only simulate as an effect.
CFS3 is a stand-alone platform and not intercompatible with anything else.

Thankfully, no. This is a serious flight sim. There are other progs for people who want computer aeroplane games.

Actually, back in my Military VA days, we did at one time "dogfight" using voice comms and a spotter. It wasn't too realistic, but it did give us a chance to show off manuvering skills.

The spotter acted like a referee in a boxing match, and counted "hits" as the aggressor called "Guns, Guns, Guns" after he lined up on the defender's 6.

Allot of it was on the Honor System, and called for major teamwork, but it just wasn't as good as smokin' your opponent's butt in a blaze of virtual smoke and fire!

This is from an as yet, unpublished novel..... This will get you going!

"…… I pulled up through the clouds, from a gray hazy blanket over my canopy, to bright, blinding sunshine that warmed the side of my face. Out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of something shiny on my 9 o’clock. It was the sun reflecting off the MiG’s windscreen. Did he see me, or didn’t he? I backed off the throttle and slipped back into the clouds. Hard left, then back up through the clouds, right on his 6, but too high. My shadow gave me away. The MiG went from straight and level to an inverted 6g dive into the clouds that seemed almost effortless, with me trying desperately to stay glued to his tail. After emerging below the clouds my opponent made a hard right bank. I followed. Then a hard left, into a split S to try and get me off him in a futile attempt to gain position on me. Not today. I want to see my family again. I followed the MiG hard into his split S, coming down on top of him as he was pulling up to level. Too, close… Going to guns…
The sound and vibrations of my guns was like a reassuring mother’s voice and gentle embrace. Splash one! Smoke, fire, and then the strangely gratifying feeling that I had beat my enemy… Some day, I might find the same fate as you, today. Then I will shake your hand, and offer my respect to you, my worthy opponent."

Fisharno,
You sure you're not in the pay of George Lucas? Sounds like the sort of thing that Luke Skywalker might get up to with all kinds of Empire baddies on his tail.

May the Force be with you ...

Very interesting -- by the looks of it, sounds like a Sabre pilot in Korea  Wink  I myself sometimes fly my AH-1 or a fast jet like the Tornado at low-level and pretend to 'strafe' an airfield, i visualize all the explosions and tracers in my mind  Grin

Actually, I was very board, at work.
Splash's post in this string got me thinking, and I got carried away.  Grin  I like to write. Poetry, Essays, Fiction, lots of stuff. Maybe PSYCO is right. Maybe I do need to get CFS.

Did we ever answer that poor guy's question?

Stay tuned to see what our steely-eyed hero does in the next installment of "Iron Wings-Aces of Korea".

(Thanks for the title idea OZ.)

I had this conversation with Haggar a week or so ago.Aparently,NO;however,if you have FS2000 you can import its scenery into CFS2,but thats about it.Im going to try it myself if I can ever locate a copy of FS2000.(its old now and nobody carries it anymore) Wink

To bad I cant make a living out of this, but it would probably kill me.

Somehow, there is a way to import at least some CFS2 scenery.

I recently picked up some FANTASTIC ground scenery (Summer textures only) for Europe, that was done from CFS2. I'll need to root out the file and have a look at it before I can expand more.
