HI! HEY fighter drivers,Ive been doing victory rolls over an "un-named"airport at mach 1.7 ,500FT off the deck, pulling 8g in the turns for the go-arounds in my F14-D,full AB.Is this possible in the real world,or would my head have exploded?
To bad I cant make a living out of this, but it would probably kill me.

It'd be possible if your plane held together and you only pulled 8Gs for a very short time. Please post the airport you didn't name.
I wanna stay far away from it.

There is nowt wrong with mentioning the name, its just a political row was breaking out, and its my job to stop that happening. However sometimes you've just got to buzz the tower Goose!

According to the Ozzy Rule Book (available at all good book shops, £3.99) Page 28, paragraph 4, section 6, subsection 42, line 7
"If you don't hit the ground with one, or both, wings during a victory roll you are not low enough"
Furthermore:
"All manoevers must be carried out at maximum G's (positive or negative, your choice) at the highest mach sustainable"(page 165, paragraph 8a, section 21, subsection e, line 30)

Ozzy's the Aerobatics veteran, but I would think doing victory rolls at M1.7 would make the rotation pretty fast. The plane might survive, but you'd definetly experience G-LOC.
Might be a good idea to get some add on scenery with fire trucks and ambulances.....

I managed to get hold of a very early first edition from 1951. I found the following in appendix C, carrier based aircraft.
"One or both wings must be folded when performing aerobatic manoevers in carrier based aircraft."
"All landings shall be performed deadstick, blindfolded and with one arm fastened behind back"
"Landing gear and arrestor hooks are for wimps"

All my landings are dead stick, due to a dead brain behind them!
Oh and the new edition Will clearly states that it is 'clip the ground, not end up cartwheeling with bits flying off unless you have an audience of really nice young ladies you are trying to impress'. Walking away from one of those always impresses

Right Then,I guess its off I go! Thanks for all the handy tips&official rules you guys!Yours are obviosly the voices of experience!Personaly though,I prefer to put the gear V high, have it tear off and cause the aircraft to to tumble end over end and come to a stop inverted with no hope of ejection-the babes love that move!! Another favorite of mine is to forget the undercarrige all together in a fast, steep final, resulting in "runway rash"and munching the wind sock or VOR beacon usualy found at end of said runway.Tonight Im taking the F-15E Strike Eagle for a whirl.I want to go for mach 2 ,see if it indeed has 1to1 thrust to weight, and determine how many g`s shell handle without wing loss. Id like to stay and chat, but gotta start perflight!
8) P.S. Ive been meaning to pick up a good hot Brittish fighter-you recomend a tornado?

For a Tornado, try DSB design - at the moment I think only the Beta models are available, but they're worth a look.

Also, why not try the new Eurofighter from DSB which is released on monday. The Beta model of this was V.fast a Low Level... V.good aeroplane
