I need to know if you can change the airport information for my home airport, ATC constantly sends flights in the wrong direction for departing flights irregardless of destination, sending them east when all departures should be straight south or to the west.... Any ideas? Angry

You can do this within the prog by changing the wind direction.  The active runway points into the wind.  To change the active runway just change the wind direction.

I understand how to change the active runway and wind direction, what I am trying to figure out is how you would change somethig like this:  My home airport is KSLC, departures south go straight out or turn west.  In FS2002 ATC directs flights south or east, directly over the city, which never happens.  Is there any way to change this or is it just one of those things?

What is happening in real life at KSLC is a SID (Standard Instrument Departure), in which they are being sent to a certain intersection and then continue on with their flight plan.  Unfortunately with FS2002, you can't (that I am aware of) change that with the AI traffic, they always fly direct routes.

Hope this helps with what you are looking for.  To say the least, you can't do it with FS2002.  You just have to accept the fact that M$ screwed up in that department as well.  Hopefully, FS04 will be better.

You can open up airports with Afcad and close the runways that you don't want used and have AI take of and land from the other direction

I agree with Andrew. Download AFCAD, and while you're there, also get TrafficTools. Use them both to configure traffic, the way you'd like.

They are both really easy to use. Hey.... If I can do it, anybody can!  Wink
