          Hiya all!!!!
   I recently downloaded the scenery  Mount Batten Seaplane base (Plymouth??) by dan Hamblin.   The instructions say to 'simply place the Scenedb and the texture folders into the main CFS2 directory'.  When I try this it asks if I want to over write existing folders. I always 'chicken out' and cancel afraid to overwrite something I need.
  The ship zip that came with it says;

Unzip the shipslib.zip archive directly to the main CFS2 folder
after making sure that you have the option "use Folder Names"
enabled. This will say it is going to overwrite an existing
folder but ignore this (no files except the ship libraries and
ship textures in scenedb\inf\... will be overwritten)

  I am confused about all this I would like to try this scenery so any help would be appricated.
  I'm glad you guys are here to help out us lost pups (no pun). For me it saves alot of headaches asking someone who has 'been there done that' Grin

   Thanks You guys are Great!!!!!!!!!

Hi JLDoggGT. Overwriting folders is a common method for installing files to the sims. This will simply add new files to the original folder. The one drawback being that it will overwite any files of the same name. I would strongly advise you to ignore all instructions to extract zipfiles direct to the sim. This causes more installation problems than anything else I know.  Roll Eyes

I use the same basic method described in my Scenery Clinic for installing all scenery to all M$ sims. http://www.simviation.com/lair/cfs2scenclinc.htm

To install the ship library I suggest extracting the zipfile to a Temp folder. Then manually paste the files into their respective folders in CFS2.
If you have problems I'll download the file to check it out myself.
