Geez!!! Lucked in last week, got to see the AN 225 - it landed at Gander Intl, NL. Knew it was being refurbished but didnt know it was flyin' and all of a sudden there it was. Was headin back to Europe somewhere. What a huge, awesome aircraft. Its truly amazing that monster can even get airborne. Anyone else seen it?

Now you know better, Tipster - One never has a camera when they want it the most. lol It was totally unexpected and absolutely thrilling. They did show it on the TV news that evening but ya gotta see that sucker for real.

How about getting a camera to take shots of it leaving?

Now ya tell me, Blade. Nah, it was a very short stop - refuelling, and too far to go home and get it. I suppose I could have bought one of those disposables at the airport (Now I think of it) Ah Well, never know - it may be back again. About a month ago the Concorde stopped in, so one never knows what is going to land here

You lucky devil Splash. That is my favourite stunt plane, and I've still not seen it in real life!
However yesterday afternoon 3 Mi-24s went bombing over my flat in a hurry, of course I didn't have any film in my camera! Bugger.
Think I'll have to get one of those digital ones eventually.

As I recall it all started with that demented post involving a 747, and you just kept challenging me splash?

Check out this site for some great pics of the AN-225
www.xp-office.de/an225.htm
; I would think since its back in business as the worlds largest air cargo, it will start showing up at most, if not all of the major airshows. And I just heard it was over here delivering some power equipment that couldnt be flown by any other plane. It has become one of my favourite aircraft, since Ozzy drove it under the bridge (inverted), and since seeing it I appreciate that feat even more lol
