I had a look at the freeware site guys, it's not exactly self-explanatory.     Give me a breakdown, what's hot and what's not ?   I'm interested in the Traffic side of things, what can you tell me ?

Hey Tipster,

Why couldn't you install the old project ai files?  First thing is that you must have the old base installer, do you have this? I went looking all over the project ai site looking for a link for you but couldn't find one... lol!! I was sure I'd seen it somewhere too... oh well. If you dont have it I could e-mail it to you...only problem is its around 7meg and I dont want to tie your modem down for an hour or so while it downloads to your inbox!!(presuming you're on 56k connection?)  Let me know if you want it though and I can send it no probs.  Or if Kevin from ProjectAI is around perhaps he can point you in right direction??

btw... hows the FS2002 install going.. you nearly back up and running yet? and what about your joystick? was wondering when/if your round the world trip would be progressing anytime soon?

Ross

For the Project AI files, go into your PAI aircraft directories, and make sure that the "sim=[x.air]" matches the .air file in that directory. I had that problem of no aircraft showing up, but when I figured that out, it was all ok!

The newer PAI files don't seem to have this problem, but I always check this everytime I install the old aircraft.

There's a few more new AI packages available at PAI.

The old format was a little confusing, and if you didn't know what you were doing, you could mess it up. The new format is easy to understand and install

If you look at the top of the Airline page, there's a link to an FTP site with a list of all the files on that page. It also gives the date when each file was last modified.

Some of the new ones I noticed were Chicago Express, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Royal Air Maroc, Vietnam Airlines, and it looks like the Air France package was updated

If you guys are having problems, I suggest you post your problems in the PAI forum (message board link) that way the developers and staff could help you a lot since they did create them, they should know the problems. Although they go through a tough beta test (i am one of the testers I know) there are a few bugs.

Nothing Happens to your default AI, it stays the same. ALL PAI plans just add on to the default traffic.bgl. unless you choose to remove them your self by downloading the right link from their page.

Thanks crash, but I won't join the PAI forum for the reasons you'll find in my post at (or near) the bottom of this thread:

http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=gen;action=display;num=104...

I understand the reasoning behind them requiring ISP e-mail addies, but I'm afraid it's not worth it to me.

Thanks anyway though. Smiley

If you are worried about PAI giving away your e-mail address, and getting swamped by a crap load of spam, dont be. they just use it to notify you of replies to your posts and confirm your account with their forum. I havent seen a spam increase since i joined, i get the same old, same old. ("enlarge your breasts," [which really doesnt apply in my case...lol] "come see me F***,"[dont really want to] "you've been approved for the platinum card" stuff like that).

I believe spammers have scripts that scan webpages looking for email addresses. The major problem with these scripts is that they have no intelligence, so having an e-mail addy like 'emailaddyREMOVECAPS@msn.com' prevents scripts from using your real address. I've got a friend that does this also.

btw, has anyone tried going to google and searching their name? I did, and it's scary!
