If the next version of FS requires a new DX, it will just shoe-horn it in there, when you install, and we'll all be running it soon anyway.

I have discovered, quite by accident, that FS2002 will run at 2x "normal" fame rate when DX8 is replaced with DX7 by the re-installation of win2000 pro over win2000 pro. I do not know if this is true of winXP. Smooth flying.

What will it do to FS2002 if you install DX9 when it was designed to run on DX8 ?
When you install DX9 should Window Media Player 9 upgrade be installed?

FSTIPSTER:
You miss the point altogeather. I am not talking about sim, rate. I said, DX7 doubles the FRAME RATE.

Listen, know-it-all. I am quite sure that you have never ran FS2002 with DX7. Try it, then spout out your wisdom.

Thanks Hoot,

I wondered why my graphics card wasn't performing, it was meant to be the best one around!  And it hadn't made a difference, we're hoping to upgrade to 1.6 GHz, since that's the highest this computer will go.

Thanks
Greg

Hi GreG

I had the exact same probelm with my card as your having. It was a Geforce 4 Ti4200 128MB, i thought Flight sim was going to be great, i was wrong about 12 frames max.

I decided it was the card that was faulty so i returned it and still have to play with what i have got now. Hoping to get a new PC for fs2004!! Grin
