I would like to know what you guys consider to be serious FS2k2 achievements that you have managed.

As an example after much graphics, joystick and OS tweaking I am finally running at a steady 30fps at manageble detail levels.

This has increased my control of the aircraft that I am now able to track the centre line of the runway in a cessna with crosswind and some turbulence.

So what have you lot managed lately?

I've flown under or along nearly every famous (inverted in inapropriate aircraft), and quite a few not so famous bridges in the virtual world, and I've massacred loads of stuff in my beloved Spit in CFS3.

The most 'serious' achievement is to enjoy it.

I think the best thing I've ever done is seriously learn, practice and use IFR navigation. It took a while and lots of reading and practice, but I'm now a very confident IFR pilot.
In January, I took my C-5 across the US, then visited 3 continents, then back home to Travis. Using NavLog print outs, and FSNav only as a reference for nav aids and to check positioning, but 100% IFR.
Big Hint: Using a kneeboard or simple notepad helps allot.

What a blast!!!

My biggest achievment is finally getting to a point where graphic wise I am very happy, and I have enough aircraft and sceneries on my hard drive to keep me very satisfied.  I am not downloading like crazy anymore, because it is all the same.  Granted, when someone creates new and unique aircraft or scenery, I may take a look.    I just enjoy the game now, not much tweeking...

Being able to fly without the GPS was one of my better achievements. And still getting a good landing is a good achievement!

Landing with NO visibility, a thunderstorm at night, all in a 747 with one engine and no instruments.  I played around with these variables for a little while, and finally landed a sweet, soft landing (after three tries).

Whew! Grin
